I don't like the fact that I drive all the way to Le mans pay for entrance and Grandstand tickets and then a load of kids drive past in their rich kids toys! The racing at times is more like parade laps. (not all of it, but there are lots of cars from different years put out on track together and most owners are not racing drivers).We found Houx Annexe to be much quieter this year. There were a few fireworks on Sat/Sun evening, a smallish fire on Sunday night (that thankfully we were quite far away from). I absolutely love the experience but it always mystified me why people have to be complete d

I went for what I thought would be a nice relaxing camping holiday with my family in Le Mans.
Oh boy was I wrong. There were boy racers driving around constantly for what seemed like an entire day from around 3 o’clock on the Saturday afternoon. These weren’t quiet cars either, oh no! They seemed to be completely unsilenced and made quite the din.
My two young children found it very difficult to sleep.
The campsite facilities were ok, but not the best you would expect to find. The people were generally ok, I was unfortunate enough to bump into the odd ‘petroleum head’, but luckily they were few and far between.

Had you asked I think we would have suggested that this was not the campsite to expect a relaxing family weekend...Oh boy was I wrong. For what it's worth, I stayed on the Thomas Cook site, and there were a number of families. It was definitely a civilised site. There was noise at night, from nearby sites, but no silly antics on the site itself and I would certainly recommend it.Oh boy was I wrong. I presume this was Beausejour? He mentions Houx but I read that a previous years? This is why campsites like the PH 1st tickets site and TL are so much better, you pay for what you get!
If you book a Public site you have to put up with the public! And that's why I also won't use Public Transport (because its full of Public).

Apart from the smoke bomb,open campfire under the trees and two muppets screaming Swindon ? football songs at one another in the small hours it was fine.stinkyspanner said:
I went to Le mans with my dad a few times in the late 80's and early 90's. I've got some photos somewhere in the loft of a big bonfire in the campsite with a bloke driving a MK1 lotus cortina through the middle of the fire and doing donuts and stuff. This lot are old hat amateurs
Was this at Arnage? we camped there in the 80s, there were a bunch of guys from Southampton, one had a lotus cortina, it was a bit wild, but quite good humoured.fatboy18 said:

Rain later and loads SC or early terminations for the various grids. Especially as takes a while for decent stuff to get out there.

We stayed at the "glamping" site for Travel Destinations, and other than the rave the Dane's had on Friday night, it was good (food was pretty decent). I think I remember seeing the odd camper van on the normal TD site when we walked through.Monsterlime said:
