If you have the space, squeeze in a couple of bikes (pedal type!). The one thing that you can't really gauge until you get there is the sheer scale of the place. I think you could fit something like two Silverstones in the LeMans infield. There's plenty of shuttles and 'trains' that move you around but can be rammed at times and you can wait ages to get on.

Plan to be gone by Sunday evening. It's odd. At 2.30pm on Sunday you wouldn't want to be anywhere else. At 6.00pm you'll want to be anywhere but LeMans. The whole place just switches off.

Get your car stickered up! All part of the fun.

Enjoy!
We have taken bikes before and never used them. They are a good idea though as there is a fair distance to cover.
Definately leave on Sunday night, but not before the end of the race ! It can all happen in the last few laps !
Stickers are a must. It's always good when you start seeing the first few stickers up cars.
I for one cannot wait !

Excellent advice. We bring folding bikes, so much better than walking

My vote would be go to organised site such as 1st Tickets - It's organised, secure and friendly.

The added bonus of 'habitable' facilities a bar (for you not son) with live coverage of the race has to be experienced.

thumbup Our packages with 1st Tickets will be going on general sale in the next two weeks. There's some more info here and all inclusive package pricing here.

Both our sites have a fenced perimeter with 24/hr security, clean toilets and showers with no queues, cooked breakfast/dinner and a marquee with cash bar where you can watch the race coverage on TV when you need a break from the circuit. Plus you'll be with 400 other PHers, what's not to love?!

I always promote the off site route to a Le Mans trip.

For what you get, I simply don’t see the value in the on site ‘luxury’ packages.

Done camping off site, then hotel off site and through contacts built up and a bit of research, now stay in house on a b&b type set up.

20mins from track, direct into parking, generally hassle free traffic. Lovely little village and come and go with no fears about security or sharing my trip with idiots who are pitched next to me.

There’s loads of options out there if you look. The drive in is little different from plodding from a camp site to track side.

It’s not everyone’s ideal set up, but I wouldn’t do it any other way. And the trip with travel, circuit tickets and food/drink costs what you’d usually just pay for these ‘premium’ circuit packages.

Just saying, there’s other options out there. Those who enjoy the circuit options, that’s great and not knocking it. Beauty of Le Mans is the variation of options and each person can create their ideal way of doing things.

Camping verte is a good site. Quietish, friendly crowd, good loos, shortish walk to village etc, good access to roads to supermarkets
