not heard that, and would be surprised!

they have a bar and there is no mention in their T&C's about not taking your own booze in

Ever so slightly off topic buuuuut what is the policy for taking alcohol into the circuit? It seems to be different depending on which gate we use to get in. We'll be on Bleu Nord this year so probably be entering via the gates near the start of the main straight

Bury it deep in the car.

No use asking about policies, you're dealing with the French, they don't do consistency or logic. I've seen a skip at one of the gates piled high with confiscated booze, a few minutes later a Triumph drove through with cases of beer strapped to the luggage rack on the boot lid, no problem.

You could try the age old tactic the deliberate find - cheap pack of Skoll whoops sorry sir there you go.

Keep the good stuff hidden

You could be adventurous and build fake floors in the boot and floor of the car so all appears normal on a look but there are 20 slabs of 24 cans hidden away

I believe no booze. Hide it in a soft drink bottle...works a treat

It does seem a bit confused by those working the gates.

My understanding is ‘no glass’ regardless of whether soft or alcoholic drink and there isn’t a ban on alcohol going in.

But I have seen people being stopped with cans and arguments about what is allowed or not.

Stopped trying to smuggle bottles of wine in now and take in box of wine, usually opened up and sandwiches/crisps etc but in top of the box to look like lunch items or sometimes with bag removed to blend into the bag better.

How will they monitor what vehicles have already brought 1/2 litres in though? Each day when you head out and return with another 1/2 litres.

Same utter bks every year. They’ve not got the infrastructure to check every single car in every single nook and cranny going in and out.

Random checks you could get lucky or lose all the booze to the skip

They tried this last year, at least at BSJ/Yellow...they gave up after about 5pm on Thursday and never bothered policing it afterwards....because it's very difficult! Just get slabs/boxes/polypins and hide them under tents and baguettes.

The ACO are really trying to sell this opportunity aren’t they with another daft rule. It’ll just be a little more “sport” for us campers probably wink

Yeah, repeat of an answer from a month or so ago. Walked in the Maison Blanche entrance (from Bleu Sud) last year on race day dragging a cooler with 120 beers, ice and three bottles of champagne (at the very bottom). Sat at the start-finish line and had no issues.

I usually hide the beers and spirits to be safe. Got the usual bottle of whisky today which will be well hidden.

Sorry, no. I did a "printscreen" of this ACO reply on facebook. It was a reply to a question of a member of a facebookgroup I also am a member of, but I can not remember which group and when.
