My best pal & I are looking at doing LM next year again but in more comfort by hiring a motor home. Any recommendations for a good campsite to book into with electrical hookup, and a decent provider? I’m struggling with a quick Google so far, unless I’m looking in the wrong places.

Hi we booked motorhome pitches this year with Lycian Events on the Porsche Curves, very good location, electric hookup, secure site with wristband entry and good 24hr security, food package options available too, we are looking at rebooking for 2020.

Have you looked at the price of hiring them yet? Strangely, the rates skyrocket for mid June so if you haven't done so yet, do have a look.

We camped near an Aussie chap and his missus from the UK two years ago (turned out he is one Danny Riciardo's best chums) in a motorhome who rented from a company near Paris - rather than the UK. He said it worked out much cheaper.

There is a specific site for motorhomes near the roundabout by the Porsche curves, but you can get onto all of the other sites without too many problems. On MB there are a few large truck sized motor homes on there with no issues

The site we use near Tetre Rouge is campers plus electric. Its 200 Euros.

However as mentioned check camper rates, my mates paid 1200 gbp for theirs.

If you are interested in our "secret" site let me know.

Thanks for that-it sounds perfect. We love having a few beers and a laugh but are of the age now constant drum ‘n bass gets a little wearisome...

My friend and I are still in the planning stage but will look to make a concrete booking in the next month or two!

You're welcome. I'm contacting the guy in September, then I'll confirm numbers with him in April when I go to Moto 24 (he doesn't have website, email or anything from the 21st Century, including even a basic grasp of English!!!)

We are in love with the place, so we're out to get him more campers than just us, so that he can carry on improving it

Just let me know on that thread as and when you decide

Cheers

Timing wise that sounds perfect for us, too. Sounds like a plan is coming together!

I’ve enquired on a couple of motorhomes and it looks to be a shade under a grand for Tuesday-Tuesday hire currently, which is OK in my book.

If the motor home doesn’t come off, the good old fashioned tent will do!
