Viewing on the Mulsanne Straight !

Has anyone ever managed to view on the Mulsanne Straight !
I've tried going through the forest - North of Houx camp site but got turned back .. they patrol the fields and have huge flashlights..
I'd imagine viewing it from the outfield might be easier as that would be more difficult to patrol, alternative don an SOS camoflage outfit and do it commando style!
We have managed a couple of times over the last decade but the last couple of years they seem to have put more marshalls and police along the Mulsane
We are going to have a go at 3.00am this year

And the journey back by road was a real night mare..
So many roads closed.. it seemed to take hours.
Only problem is finding places to cross the track, which are so badly marked out on most maps it seems.
Got up against the armco the last two years. Oh, and at the classics last year. About 2-300 yds before the Chinese. Still way before the braking area for the chicane. I managed to get some video footage on my little digi-cam. Came out better than expected. Not easy to find and even harder to describe! Makes your ears rattle though. The classics were fanbleedingtastic.

Only way back in the late 80's and early 90's at the Cafe Des Hunadieres when the Silk Cats were running and pre chicanes, they would come past flat chat from one horizon to the other. At night you had no visual clue what was going past and would do it on noise alone ..... Multi rotor Mazdas, Sauber Mercs, Aston AMR1 and of course V12 Jags ....... Good memories.

Come on spill the beans - email me off the record !
In '94 managed to find our way to the inside of the straight just after the kink past Tetre Rouge...fantastic place to watch, uninteruppted view as they went down to the first chicance -- We went at about 20:00 and would've been ok until one of the party decided to take a few photos...but he used the flash, so very quickly we had the marshalls, police et al bearing down on us....
Ah, back in '89 me a 3 mates managed to sneak thru the woods to take a pics (mostly tarmac and pink'n blue blurs) got chased off by the plod.
Most amazing thing, a Mazda racer, blew his turbos down the Mulsane (in those days it was a 2 mile straight) his brakes had gone, so to slow himself down he was grinding into the armco before the bend. Blazing on fire right pass us - amazing sight! The next day we saw the remains in the pits, total burnt out.
