Update on Le Mans site:

For the 24 Hours of Le Mans (13-14 June 2020), we are monitoring the situation and following instructions issued by the authorities.
We shall announce our decision on 15 April. Whatever happens, the 24 Hours of Le Mans will go ahead this year.
Hmmm....and Brittany Ferries want the balance of payment on the 11th April...

Just to update on the Sebring situation:

Virgin Atlantic flights rescheduled to 11 - 15 Nov. I got a refund for the Premium Economy upgrades but had to shell out 2/3s of that + original Economy ticket price I had paid to get Economy Delight in what looked to be the last seats on the plane. So you could say we were downgraded and got a few hundred quid back.

Hire car (Mustang hired via BA Exec club) has been fully refunded today. I had been trying to contact BA since Saturday but could not get through. I got email about an hour ago which stated that I would be refunded in full.

The non refundable hotel rooms for tonight have been cancelled, the hotel advised that I would not be charged.

And that's that. Blimey! The Virgin Atlantic stuff was tricky and all done via SMS but we got there in the end.

Virgin told me on Friday I could re-book but it had to be re-done before my date of travel (ie Friday) for a flight to be taken this year, we're not looking to go in November but will hopefully go in March, so I've lost the flight cost, minus the tax which was about 1/3rd of the total, not seen it yet though, waiting to hear from Air bnb about the accommodation, car hire refunded, hoping Sebring and Nasar will roll tickets to next year when we explain about coming over from the UK

You shouldn't have lost anything. Virgin have now extended the rescheduling to April 2021. It was extended to December 2020 over the weekend but I believe today they moved that back to April 2021.

EDIT: Just saw the "Friday" part you mentioned. Sorry about that.

Thanks for that, I'll try again, depends on when I need to re-book by I suppose, no point until dates for next year are announced, which could well be later than normal

In the SMS chat I had today, they offered to keep my tickets "open" until I decided on a date at a...err...later date lol.

Did you book direct with Virgin? I went through Netflights which might make a difference

I booked direct with Virgin...this is the page with what they're offering

https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/news/coro...

Your travel agent should help you with this, I wouldn't let them off the hook.

I've booked up with Travel Destinations. Balance due 1st April. Guy said if event cancelled or postponed we don't get our money back, we get credit to be used by end of 2021. I asked if that was legal and he said it was the ABTA rules, sounds a bit fishy to me. I 99% could make a postponed event or next year, but I want that to be my choice.
Doesn't sound right to be honest, I'm booked with Travel Destinations too for the Classic though. I've not looked when the balance payment is due but I guess it'll be soon. I'm trying to leave it as long as possible to see what happens but I can't see it happening.

I think the credit part of this is bogus - it should be a refund through the original payment method. 1st Tickets which is also ABTA says that r.e. the Classic we are "entitled to receive suitable alternative arrangements" i.e. rescheduling of the event, I assume. "or where these are not available, a full refund" i.e. full cancellation. It seems Travel Destinations are suggesting that they'd give credit if the event is completely cancelled.

I messaged ACO suggesting that in the event of likely cancellation there is an option to simply have your ticket allocation held and whenever 24hrs takes place you have what you’ve already booked still there.

I’d personally prefer that being refunded and having to rebook next time around. It would also help them not having a ton of funds disappear all at once.

i do hope the camping tickets have that option although i must admit camping late September or October is not ideal.

All motorsport in the UK has been cancelled till the end of April.

Do they think it will all be over by then? I can't see it

French Open cancelled until September. Not a chance LM will happen in June I’m afraid.

ACO will make a decision and communicate it by 15/4.

They are specific about not going to cancel it however. That doesn’t mean it won’t be postponed of course.

This from statement they released and forwarded on by TL.
