Well I think it's safe to say I can see a few cars becoming "Loose" trying to cut the corner over those rumble strips! yikes
I can also see a few cars ending up in the big gravel trap after picking up gravel from the island trap on their LH tyres and then trying to turn right!

Could be an interesting place to watch when bunching up occurs whistle

I believe the intention was the opposite. It all looks rather curious to me.

3.Now it gets puzzling. I've moved to the left and there is a small gravel trap on the left of the racing line.

4. I've moved nearer the bend looking back up the Mulsanne so you can see the racing line on the left, the strange gravel trap and the rumble strips.

Trying to arrange things in my head but could the small trap be in a line to some of the temporary barriers when the area is in "race trim"? Is it there to try and catch/slow cars otherwise heading for firm encounter with a tyre wall?

Or just to put people off going too far trying to create a new racing line, where you force a car to defend the inside in to the corner, so compromising their exit while you run deep and left, trying to get better drive out of the corner (fine to a degree but the more tarmac they put out there the wider drivers will go)?

Lowdrag your pixs are great it is obvious that the very bit of the spectator area near the village has been pushed back quite a lot.... I wonder why that old bard still survives (not the MOT centre) ??

I think someone said it was a listed building, or whatever the French equivalent is, didn't they?

Not sure what you mean by "the old barn"? The old house on the corner is a listed building I am told.

Presumably the changes to the corner and spectator areas here will not matter to most of us as we won’t be able to get there as it won’t be in our colour sector. We’ll just be seeing it on the big screen.

Not quite the thread I was looking for but can't find where lowdrag posted his more recent updates - but the new Mulsanne corner inner curbs might have looked visious to the eye but didn't seem to bother the 97 Aston when it was overtaking the Ferrari just now smile

I'm already bored. It just isn't the same; here on my own, Billy-no-mates this year. I hear what you are saying about Mulsanne but this photo I took and sent to several ex-Le Mans drivers and they were shocked so who am I to argue? But, apparently that is the new FIA style
