Racing across the French countryside on a Paris to Le Mans TGV after having a few beers and lunch in Paris, to be just in time to catch the 1st practice session..... frown
Did that on my 2nd Le Mans - flew in to Paris and took the TGV - very relaxing way to do it provided someone is taking your gear for you.

In the case of 2017, I'd have booked my tickets last Friday. Trying to get a cheap ticket for the chunnel off PH members today, with an early start tomorrow to head down. Left it a little late...

I was booked on Eurostar then had a couple of hours spare in Paris before getting to other station. My lot were leaving Sunday night so they would of had everything 'set up' by the time I'd got there including cold beer weeping

Were you heading there to see the old grandstand? That's what we were planning to do
Ah oui, bien sûre smile
Although I visit Reims every year, buy some Champagne and drink it in the pool of my favourite Bed and Breakfeast, I don't visit the old F1 track every year. But here are some pics from 2015:

The hardest part of going to Reims is pronouncing it. I’ve had several conversation with various french friends and they all differ!

I’d be hopping in my car now with my co-driver to head for the overnight Pompey-Caen ferry normally & be super excited....I can’t imagine how excited I’ll be next year having missed June 2020!

Never been, this would have been the year. Next year is N24, year after sail via St Malo.
I think 2023 might be when we do it as a group.
Great pictures thank you

Wed eve: just arrived at Riems, we'd be heading to the Chinese by the Ibis I'd booked, for a big dinner...looking forward to tomorrow whilst still worrying about the weather forecast

Is that the one on a trading estate? Has a steak house type restaurant attached to it?

Yes there is a few there, the one I’ve stopped at on Euro road trips is the ibis Reims Tinqueux.

If you get another chance, and are interested, then check out Musee de la Reddition in Reims which is where the first German surrender to the Allies was taken (day before the one the Soviets demanded in Berlin). It’s a spooky place I thought.

After a health conscious breakfast of bacon and egg sandwich with brown sauce the next question is another cup of tea or another croissant or both?

Checking the weather and trying to work out what not to take... Plus confirming when late arrivals are due at camp...

We are finally off. I think 4 or 5 cars, in convoy. By now we would be through the tunnel heading towards the first toll for our annual picture. Does anyone have a link to the chaps site as I can't find it.

We would have been about 45 minutes into our journey down exiting the chunnel....

This thread is making me smile, butterflies appear in my stomach, but ultimately its making me sad that we are all not going....

I cant wait until next year!
