I expect it will happen. The question is will it be closed doors or not. That will be known nearer the time

Damage the car in a Friday FP4 or hyperpole and you REALLY aren't going to make many friends in the pit crew are you!

I was going to make 2020 my first LeMans so really hope it still happens.

I haven't booked anything yet so my concern is if it goes ahead with spectators, will I still be able to buy admission and camping tickets or will the capacity already be sold out, ( to those that booked for the original date )?

I was looking at camping options and thinking Team Langoustine, ( old Thomas Cook site ).

I guess nobody knows but any advise welcome..

Thanks, Ed

I'm going to make my ferry booking a week before. I'm going to buy tickets on the gate like I normally do.
I will just turn up to my campsite - its dead in normal times as it is, however I would expect there will be lots of spare capacity to book a week in advance.

My reason is because I don't want to be left with tickets I can't use, and anything could change quickly. Its well out of season, I don't expect it to be full by any stretch, wrong time of year.

I do expect there's a good chance of last minute restrictions screwing everything up for us.

I noticed that, but the email i got from the ACO said the race finishes at 14.30 on Sunday so i think someone typed it in wrong.

I suppose the one plus point from all of this is that we'll get to see the sun come up without having to stay up all night.

Email from TL last week, in short not likely they’ll be operating the old TC site this year, only public campsites. Wait for 30/6 and see what is said is all we can do presently.

1. General entry tickets
These are NEVER a problem and you can just walk up to 90% of the entrance gates and buy one any time before or even during the race. Buying beforehand just saves you having to queue.

2. Camping
If this was a normal year and you were posting this 3 months before the race I'd say "Yes, but you'll probably be limited to what's available rather than being able to pick and choose. Which basically means Beausjour at that point. If you know you're going to be going in say 2021 and have a specific campsite in mind you're best of registering your interest with the ticket agents about now (normally I'd say "after this years race" but that's a messy term this year) and looking to book as soon as bookings open/before Christmas.

This ISN'T a normal year though, and between people who could make June but can't make Sept. and people who can make Sept. but don't want to take the Covid risk I think a call around the ticketing agents will probably get you a space in almost any campsite for the Sept. race.

True, but normally you'd be crashing on Thursday giving the mechanics Thurs. night/Friday day to fix the car before a good nights sleep Friday night, ahead of being awake for 48hrs.

Crash the car on Friday and your mechanics who have been up since Friday morning are then working through Friday night to fix the car, then going stright in to the race with little or no sleep, so having already been up for 24hrs without sleep before starting the 48hrs without sleep of the race.

My concern is that now we're over the peak, everybody cheats, pretending the restrictions are over, and as a result the graphs are flatlining. A bit more of that and its exponential catastrophe.

So we won't know until the week before

I won't go till I've had the vaccine (luckily (?) I'm somewhere near the front of the queue)

Read some speculation that they will only allow local ACO members in... I don't know what local constitutes 100 km's ? perhaps as was one of their open up zones

If this happens I'll be ringing my 2 favourite venues to see if they'll be open, and I'll make a decision from there
