Old news, but I noticed today that the ACO is now hiring for the LM24:

Another good sign?

That is the solution, but we prefer to camp the other side of the site and have a little more privacy, i think we have been in almost exactly the same spot for 10 years now after slowly drifting from the stage end of the site to close to the main entry.
We superglue 1 and 2 euro coins to that path in front and then water pistol anyone who tries to pick them up...all good fun
I'm bringing a scraper with me next year
By the Sunday morning, we witnessed a dude rock up with a hammer and a chisel...we had soaked him the previous day lol

If you want good weather just don’t take any shorts or other summer items.
Guaranteed warm weather then in my experience

I'm not doing it in September, too few people and he will be ready with a hose pipe or something. 2021 - he will have forgotten by then amidst all the excitement..,I won't forget

Had a long chat with a restaurateur yesterday and he was very downbeat. Like all the tourist trade, he relies on footfall, and this year there has been zero, zilch, nada. With the race put back to September, the ACO will probably have difficulty finding students to fill the nearly 1,000 jobs for the race, such as directions, parking, paddock security and all the other little things we take for granted. And many of the marshals are not coming either. My local bar/restaurant told me that they are not doing anything because they don't know how many people are coming, or even whether the return of Covid will mean that at the last minute it will be held behind closed doors. As you can gather, people are very negative about things and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just think on what has been lost already this year. 24 Hour Motor bike, (will now be held but behind closed doors) 24 Hours Trucks, Le Mans Classic, Moto GP, and then there are all the other events that people don't think of. Barely a day goes by that I don't hear the roar of engines from the circuit, but this year silence. Even though the circuit has been reopened I don't hear anything. Many shops closed during lockdown and are not reopening.

Oh no! You mean I won't have to wait at the campsite entrance for some illiterate french student to appear and cycle (at about half the speed of my car at tickover in 1st gear) to show my to completely the wrong space, usually involving lots of arm waving and moaning when I turn off up row "E" and stop at space "26" because my camping pass says "E26", rather than following them past it, only to look lost before doing a u-turn or heading off in some magical mystery tour of the campsite, eventually ending up back at row "E", space "26"... rolleyes

Wouldn't be so bad if it was a one-off, or even if I was arriving the day the site had opened but seems to be every year. Hell either last year or 2018 they had managed to lose one of their bikes by Thursday so you had to wait for someone to lead the car infront on the magical mystry tour, then slowly cycle back to hand the bike over to your person for your tour to being. Thank god I was on Bleu Sud and not Nord!

Link?

They always open the Sunday before. Might just mean no security or marshals until Wednesday?

Official site disagrees...

Carparks open on Wednesday...are you sure whoever it was you "heard" didn't get carpark and campsite muddled up?

He had an email from the ACO, ties in with scrutineering closed to public on Wednesday very hard to do that with campsites inside the circuit full of people. Sorry but i fear it is true

Could you politely suggest to them that it might be an idea to make a proper announcement, what with thousands of people having booked travel plans?
