This would of been my 14 th start I am just being honest here sorry but we love the freedom of LM

I have ticket's etc i have asked the agent for a refund or carry them over . i would rather do DIY than go this year now i have seen the arrangements

A big No thank you !

Obviously i understand its no fault of the ACO and they are conforming to guidance
should of cancelled it this year

I think you're both talking about the same place, from different angles.

I'll have no truck with farcebook, but their bookface page says they'll be open again on 24th August, if my schoolboy french hasn't deserted me!
as my French is mainly gleaned from Brico / Leroy M books or otherwise known as 'porn' for the little boys room i'll agree with you..

It's very far from concrete that it'll be back to normal next year, or indeed the year after that. This is the new normal until a vaccine appears. I think we just all need to accept that everything will be very different until that happens and make the best of it.

I'm very much looking forward to going camping with my mates to a field in France, drinking tepid beer, burning some meat and watching a bit of motorsport! smile

Which is what you do in June. In September, it's wet and cold. Your beer is unlikely to be tepid.

I can't wait. It's interesting the demographic here. Those that go for the racing, those that go for the lads on tour, and those that are seemingly fair weather followers who are 'sod that! I'm not going if I can't do X or Y'.

One thing is clear, it'll be true endurance racing hard core fans that go.

Not going because you can't do X or Y is not fair weather following confused

Plenty of hardcore fans aren't going because they want to move around track to view from other vantage points, sit in the grandstands all night, wobble down to mulsanne on bikes in the dead of night. They'd do that in the rain as well.

I think Tyre Smokes post is right, it is interesting. Anyone after a lads holiday won't want to go. Anyone nuts about the race won't miss it.

I think the majority want the whole deal. The nuts ones just want to be there, and would do it sat in a ditch if that was all that was on offer.

You'll still be able to wobble down to Mulsanne, its outside the circuit.
I'll be at 2 venues there, nothing to do with the organisers

Is the consensus that the tribunes at Mulsanne corner & Indianapolis / Arnage are likely to be separate "villages" if they are open at all

We bought parking in terte rouge and mulsanne / arnage - now wondering whether we'll only get use of one of them.

Separate zones.

They need to sort out the campsite/grandstand match. I suspect that if you have a green campsite, you'll get a green General Admission and your grandstand seat will be changed to a green village one.eek

That'll take some effort, and refunds.rolleyes

Meanwhile, just to add some flavour to the problems, there's a dock strike in St Malo laughlaugh

There has apparently been a break through in st malo and sailings starting again. Though my worry is how regular the sailings become.

We’ll have to wait and see how the allocations go.

I’m looking forward to it, may even have a bit more room and few less idiots. My first was 1981 and have only missed 6 or so and I’m not missing this one if at all possible. Solidarity, Fraternity, Liberty and all that. Well done ACO for trying to get it sorted

Which is my point. There will be more true racegoers this year and less squeezy bottles spraying piss at everyone and everything.

Yep, agreed on that aspect of your point from yesterday, and all the better for it. Though you will still have a lot of true race fans giving it a miss due to the movement restrictions "villages" rather than potential for poor weather (whether that be the case, obviously we are yet to see).

You think? Silverstone last year was great, but very few there by comparison. Yet even with grandstands closed and everything 'contained' in the Village complex, there was still plenty to see and do. If Le Mans this year is like that, from an endurance fan, I'll love it.

I do the Isle of Man a lot.
The Manx Grand Prix is the amateur event, pure road fans who come and chat to you about racing. There is loads of space and the pubs have a chilled atmosphere.

By contrast the TT is shared with lots of people with selfie sticks who think they're going to get a picture of themselves with Guy Martin, and many viewing points are rammed.

I like the former more. Going to enjoy this year, as a one off it will be a good do.
