So it’s that time in the year again (or slightly later in fact).

Thought I would set up a post to discuss Le Mans, though there’s probably not too much to talk about. 5 cars in LMP 1 and no competition for Toyota for the 3rd year in a row. Usually this sort of dominance is something to be proud of, but it’s just an embarrassment for the lack of any serious competition.

The GTE is probably the section to watch, if you don’t want a forgone conclusion.

Just hope the Hypercars rules brings in some entrants, otherwise we may be watching the beginning of the end for the worlds greatest endurance race.

Totally agree.

Even GTE Pro has been empty this season with only 6 cars.

I'd rather they had fewer classes but more cars in a class.

It's been the beginning of the end for LM24 numerous times now, usually coinciding with the end of one set of regulations.

I know, but this time no one seems interested in signing up to the new set of regs.

I'm looking forward to the N24 far more than Le Mans. It's a pretty meagre entry, especially in the top LMP1 class, and GTE-Pro isn't brilliant either.

Will be interesting to see which Manufacturers actually sign up the the new Hypercar class. Will the ACO have got it right, or another wrong direction.

  • UNPOPULAR OPINION*
LMP1 and LMP2 cars have become way too fast to share the same track with the GT cars

If you have amazon prime then you can get a free trial of eurosports in Amazon Prime Video (just take the trial and cancel immediatly and you get 6 days viewing).

Otherwise in the other thread someone had mentioned a reddit thread which might help you find something.

Toyota and Glickenhaus already announced, Peugeot and Bykolles announced yesterday, Alpine are clearly interested, and will be running a P1 next year

7 litre GT40s verses 1,150 cc Spitfires in 1965?

Apologies all. Didn’t realise there was a separate Le Mans section under events. Thought it was weird that there was no chat.

I’m watching on MyCANAL (iOS, AppleTV, Android) through HDMI-out on a big screen. Channel France3

I have a monthly sub, but I recall the first month was free

Never mind GT40s vs Spitfires - the Spitfire's came 1st and 2nd in class in '65, so there were even slower cars on track.

Are there fewer circuit cameras than normal because of human malware issues?

Still, good news. No Carlton Kirby.
