France often looks like a spread out builders yard. This is the back of the village years ago

And tell the locals we'll be back in force next year, Brexit providing wavey

Fell out of love with going there in '17... way too much hassle travelling on my own from Scotland and spending most of the time at the circuit on my own too, travel buddy running around taking picture... So I am sorry Le Mans but I am keeping my money to myself - even stopped my ACO membership after 15 years. PS Interesting seeing those bars from the inside in all those years I have never been a patron my travel buddy and others I travel with don't really drink.

PS Remember next year there will be even more bother: International Driving Liscence, Green insurance card, extended custums' chaos and checks plus a tanking pound making going there too expensive for many

It’s unlikely a IDP will be needed. They don’t need them for US licenses in France. Green insurance card is good practice anyway and I usually get one from my insurance provider. Customs will be like going through the airport, “anything to declare?”.

He sounds like he doesn't want to go anyway. No point in trying to convince him.

It's not Le Mans that's the issue - it's going with the wrong mates!!! smash

Sort that, and you'll be back all revved up again!! driving

I'd kind of always planned to do Le Mans on my own, never thought I'd end up with groups in double figures. Love my own company, especially travelling. Did Assen TT that way twice, it was memorable. My main Le Mans mate does his travelling on his own, while I accompany all the people that have joined our group - a proper convoy / logistical upheaval.

All I can say that my racing situation is complicated and when it is difficult with certain people coming together... one just avoids it.... One friend is a fish out of water and asks about everything for instance and clings and clings he is 66. Instead of going, I make my own spotters' guide which is published here and on several sites on FB... https://www.dropbox.com/s/q9tkqxdrfgvksws/LM%20202... I guess next year it might be popular because Andy Blackmore has announced today that he is stopping doing them

Beermountain had a great annual review of bars, things to do and places to see, together with photos of each car, taken during the preliminaries a fortnight earlier. I used to help out with it. But they discontinued it a few years back now.

Cheer up, you’re sounding like the depressed robot from Hitch Hikers Guide....maybe the next time join different company, seems to be plenty of people on here that I don’t know yet but look forward to meeting next year at the place that is not mentioned

Very sad to see. Should be heaving with happy race fans. Although doesn’t look the same as a weekend in June.

Lowdrag, ever grateful for your insight and mutual heartbreak that the place we love is suffering. Fingers crossed that we get back to something resembling normal in time for June 2021
