COVID-19: France tightens testing rules as British travellers rage at UK's 'chaotic' quarantine U-turn

I think this and the UKs change in level = no one is going to go now/nail in coffin.

Coming back is always awful anyway. This way at least I’ll have 5 days isolating at home to release PCR test. At the moment, a few of us are still planning on going.

Going is fine if you had the Pfizer jab, but AZ is not I believe.

I thought that had been sorted now and any of the 4 jabs were ok.

I will still go so long as it’s stays amber and doesn’t slip into red....I can work from home easily enough.

My guess is Grant Schapps wife would let him attend Le Mans this and he’s thrown his dummy out

Wonder how many others who have bought tickets recently are still going to go?

Well, we are both right it seems. the AZ is acceptable as long as the vaccine was made in Europe. Wasn't some AZ made in India? It's a maze out there and I am losing track. I am now to be called for a third dose later in the year.

So we are still planning to go but now find out our batch of the AZ vaccine was manufactured in India. Apparently exactly the same but not licensed by the EU. Hoping this will be sorted out by then as apparently 5m others have had the Indian AZ vaccine. The batch number is shown on the NHS Covid travel pass so could be checked at the border if the French want to be really difficult!!

Indian manufactured AZ vaccine now accepted for travel by France (as of yesterday), so even if one of your jabs is from the Indian manufactured batches, you're good to go.

One really has to keep one's eye on the ball these days. Thank you for that.

To save me trawling through pages of threads, what was the decision on deadlines for ticket refunds? I thought it was mid July, but sure someone mentioned no deadline. I’ve still not received a letter from ACO just seen the ticket order online so can see what I’ve been allocated. This situation won’t change quickly so some folk might be wanting to try and get some money back and not risk a run like last years trip.
ACO told me when I asked 16 July. Hence we have just committed for tickets. Last nights announcement not what we hoped for!
Ah, ok, cheers, see what happens in next few days, might completely change.

With the Indian manufactured AZ batches now being accepted by France, another door has opened for our group. Unfortunately the 10 day return quarantine is still the deal breaker.
We’ve all agreed to make the call on 16th August unless we hear news in the meantime that the 10 day rule will be dropped in the week following.
Let’s all keep our fingers crossed in the meantime - there’s still over 4 weeks to run until the race and look how it’s changed in the last 4 days!

The other thing I am trying to understand is the 'health pass', hopefully either the NHS app or a print out of the vaccination status will be OK

I believe that use of the NHS app/print had now been agreed with France:

I think you're right, I know the NHS app had been cleared for transit it was more the 'health pass' for bars and restaurants I was concerned about. Having read the French government site it appears that an app or printed confirmation in English or French will suffice. I am going to take a printed version as well, just in case...obviously this needs to done nearer the time as the QR code updates and thus todays version will only run until 19th August.

I'm fortunate that I work from home so quarantine and use of 5 release will suit me

Question for you guys, because the Credit note proces is not very clear...

I have sent an email to the ticketing office with our 2020 credit note, and did a bank transfer to transfer the remaining 8 euro's needed for this years ticket. I mentioned the booking number in the payment description.

A few hours ago, i got an email back saying that they claimed the credit, but are waiting on a bank transfer.

Did i do something wrong, or did the bank transfer not arrive yet. (I did the tranfer yesterday evening.)

I'm very confused biglaugh

Give it a couple of days - I had the same, and it took them a few days to receive / process the transfer.
