In danger of becoming addicted to this thread for updates, access to hive knowledge and speculation. A lot hinges on quarantine requirements for our party but as we’ll all be double dosed by end of next month, hoping it goes in our favour.
Might be of interest to some after my earlier posts, I contacted the ACO regarding next steps with my rolled over GE tickets, grandstands and parking. Their reply (it might change!!) was that they would contact me by mail with the offer of tickets based on what I booked for 2020. I will then need to reply with acceptance before they make my tickets available to download. Interesting as I’ve already had the invoice for the rolled over tickets, with a zero value.

I do feel for the ACO, they’re in a tough position and the stakes are high. They must be as frustrated with the French Government as we are with them. I don’t think they’re much less organised that normal to be honest, perhaps it seems that way as many more of us have had direct than we would usually.

All well and good at the border. But what about spotty student on the entrance to Bleu Nord or the security guard at the entrance to the circuit. This is 'no glass' turbo charged.

They will take a NHS letter also. Print out the certificate any old how.

Can't find out via the ACO website which parking will be open have expo but don't know if we can use it will email the office

We booked Arnage parking, and they gave us rouge, so assume that is opening.

They've updated the terms of service, so you'll have to log in again. Mine did the same...

Have my booking form. Still amused that it's been posted and not emailed.

Bit peeved that my 'proper' tickets have become electronic tickets. I've still got all my old tickets. A piece of paper not so much a keepsake.

Says all over in red no refunds when tickets issued.

I can't see any deadline for returning the booking form. Anyone know if there is one yet?

Makes a lot of sense to sit on this for a few weeks until some rules are clarified!

We drive to the circuit on Sunday for the end of the race (taxi in on Saturday) and always park in a public car park on Rue de Gutteloup. It's by the Gutteloup stop on the tram line and a 2 minute walk from the entrance by Tetre Rouge (handy for the Stella Bar!). It's a bit of a hike to our grandstand on the pit straight but we break it up by stopping and watching from different parts of the track on the way.

It costs the same as any other public car park, a few Euros.

Thanks , with Macronapoleon not being very warm towards us and siding with Merkel . Now reluctant to book anything but will always be able to do a ticket swap with our local friends for a couple of hours viewing. Or motorbike and park up by main entrance ?

I am only the messenger, so put away your sidearms please. Today's paper is full of the surge in new cases and the fact that 60% of them are the Indian variety. The paper was suggesting that partial or full lockdown could come back if this gets out of control, citing especially the holiday period which starts on July 1st and that 75% of those under 25 have not been vaccinated. Sensationalism perhaps, but keep an eye on the statistics.

As I suspected, the UK is about a month ahead of Europe. Just when you think its all over, you get Indians instead of the Cavalry. The Delta variant is already all over Europe, and it soon muscles its way to the top.

But then the Tour de France went into self destruct mode yesterday. One poor chap was left lying unconscious about 100 yards from the finish, as all the medics were at the previous crash a few miles back.

Interestingly (citation needed), I have received an email from the ACO plugging their ticket sales. I'd assumed tickets would sell out quickly (maybe not even get to general sale) but they seem to be in-stock after a week.

Yeah, after a few days even ACO stand still had tickets available which is normally taken within a few hours. Don’t know about current status.

Nearly veered towards making plans suddenly, but will stick with decision of not stressing about logistics and will it / won’t it be possible.

Too many Brits can't be bothered with traffic lights, testing and the French locking down or not or insisting on quarantine.

I imagine other EU citizens can't be arsed either.
