Friday ferry, don't you people get holidays!?

We're leisurely operators and make the 24hrs last from Wed to Tues!

Newhaven/Dieppe on Wed afternoon, leisurely blast (can a blast be leisurely??) to a hotel north of Rouen, late start on the Thurs, long lunch around Gace and into Le Mans in good shape Thurs pm. Hide car keys, remove driving head, bolt on drinking head and let the fun commence until Monday afternoon where we repeat the leisurely trip home.

Look out for a light blue 911 (me), a TVR 350, a smattering of TVR Taimars and a 1972 Lotus Elan+2. I'm in for a lonely Le Mans given that I'm the only Porsche pilot and TVR are in the same class as the 911s. Not that we watch that much of the race these days anyway!

Roll on Les Quatre Vingt Heures Du Mans and may the best man win. Predictions by class are:

LMP900 - PANOZ (THEY DESERVE IT)
LMGPT - NOT SURE
LMP675 - MG LOLA
LMGTS - PRODRIVE'S 550
LMGT - RACERS GROUP 911 (SORRY TVR, GREAT EFFORT BUT NOT YOUR FIRST TIME OUT)

Christ, I thought we had a pretty good convoy, but I think you've got us beat..... we've only got Diablo, F360 Spider, 996Turbo(X50), 996Turbo, 993 C2, M3, M3, M3Schnitzer, Audi TT 225 Coupe, Merc CLK 320...... that's only 3,600 bbhp for our 10 cars!!... might have to drop the Audi and Merc to get the average up.

All Black, what time train are you on, I think we're crossing at 9.30am on the Thursday.

tony, I'm the Cerb driver in the "all black" convoy - most of us are on the 10.59 train, with a couple on a 10am Dover - Calais boat.

We're intending to meet up at Cafe Jules in Desvres (small town 15km SE of Boulogne on the D314) for lunch at about 1pm local time. You would be very welcome to join us!

If not, we'll catch up with you at Rouen, assuming you have to go at the pace of the CLK (only kidding!!)

cheers

Tony - make that 4100hp - we just had another Tuscan confirm the 10.59 train

We could top 8000hp if we hook up - thats a mobile motor show!

We've just got our convoy confirmed

Here goes:

11 Ultimas (Yep, eleven!!!)
2 TVR's
1 Elise
1 Holden GTS
1 Land Rover Discovery
1 Shitroen Picaso
1 Mazda Pickup

I worked that out at about 5,790 BHP. I do hope the Shell garage at Dover is well stocked with Optimax?

big numbers!! but I'm afraid the LR, Picasso and pickup have to surely count as negative. You'll find no stragglers in our party!!

what a laugh this is going to be!!

cheers

MMM im almost ashamed to admit our convoy...

the super cars have dropped out an now we have

Tvr Chimaera
Porker 944 track day spec.
Mitsy L200 Double cab (chipped !!!)
Mitsy L200 Double cab
Saab Ragtop
Jag s type R
Astra !!

so a fairly poor 1500bhp by my calculation and most of that is the jag !!!

so in order to make a good showing on the journey were going cross country following the l200 with its sat nav.

G

p.s. remember the speed trap warnings this year guys...

Just calculated our total BHP figure.

4217 BHP.

It would be a little bit more if I knew the power output of a Winnebago!

Getting excited now, will soon be driving off that ferry on to those sunny speedy roads
