Portsmouth to Caen on the 8.15, Thursday morning.
I really hope you managed to sort out the radiator this morning. I had my fingers crossed after we left you at the hotel this morning.

Hoping for decent weather.. biggrin
How did this go? The rain on Thursday afternoon between Calais and Le Mans was monsoon-esque! Hope the guys in the roofless cars didn’t have ruined cars after this... frown We saw a Cobra, 3-wheeler, a Lamborghini of some sort, and a few caterhams at a services all diving for shelter. Hope everything was OK.

The Alfa did a great job 600+ miles without missing a beat. Cracking weekend.

979 miles door to door, including track laps.
Even with insane engine temperatures (track lap waiting and Eurotunnel customs queues) this is another one which didn’t miss a beat or sprout a leak. Pulls like a train!

We made it there on all 8 cylinders but after the heavy rain we had a few 'Italian" issues with the electrics and only 7 cylinders until about 3000rpm but not too horrendous and the track parade was good and all the cylinders and horses pushed us to 150 on the Mulsanne straight!

903 fabulous miles (won't mention the fuel consumption!) and the whole weekend was utterly brilliant!

Still stickered up from its last visit to Le Mans (24hr that time) in 2018
Hope you and your party got back ok. I saw you parked up near Le Tertre Rouge on the Monday and wasn't sure if someone had broken down or not. Hopefully not otherwise I'd feel bad for not stopping (was at the back of a convoy)

Saw you in my 944 whilst filling up for the return journey in the petrol station La Flèche.

Over 550miles done. Only issue was ride height, with all our camping kit, it was riding a bit low. Next time I need to lift it a few inches to save my exhaust from the French speed bumps and ferry ramps!!

Was it you that list your exhaust on the boat Rob?

Just as well it wasn't programmed for next weekend. We are having 42C it seems. I can't even imagine trying to get into the circuit without pulling over and boiling up, nor the race cars not having problems with the track temperatures around 50C. Me? Inside with the aircon flat out I reckon. We went to a wedding today and it was a mere 28C. even at this temperature the fan cut in.

Yeah, because we were on the top deck as I went over the ramp, it snagged the back box a managed to snap the rubber hangers. Wish I went on the lower deck! Fixed it with some cable ties which did the job. All the speed bumps in the little towns didn't help either!!
