Makes for "interesting" driving at times though.

I'm setting off from South of England very early tomorrow so I've put the roof on the Chim, if the forecast is vaguely trustworthy I'll stop around Boulogne and take it off (unpack the boot, put the roof panel in etc). What's the worst that can happensmile

Keep your fingers crossed.

And next weeks good weather seems to be fading. Current forecast is that it improves in time for FP1

I think that all one can say is "changeable" because the forecast seems to be changing hourly at times. Storms were forecast yesterday and we didn't have a drop. Sunday is forecast as stormy too, but then last Sunday was for days stormy but we never had a drop in the end. Fingers crossed!

Wrong thread, but St Saturnin are talking of 1,000 cars on Friday for their 20th anniversary. The puzzle factor is the Mulsanne bend meet. The town hall say it is on and cars will be lined on the road down towards Arnage, but all the marshal's documentation shows road closed. We even rang the ACO who confirmed that it will remain closed. Time will tell.

Some impressive rain on the way down last night. We changed our plan of attack and stopped short rather than arrive in the dark, in torrential rain and deal with setting up..

Hopefully the sites aren’t too waterlogged!

I would doubt it considering this year has seen the worst drought since 1946. Beauséjour is the worst, if there are problems. I see this morning that the thunderstorms predicted for Sunday have gone and now it is light rain today (the pool cover has puddles so it rained in the night) but the latest forecast is sunny period right through the weekend and temperatures steadily rising to 27C on Sunday.

I see the forecast for this weekend 18/19 are pushing 40.

That would have been unbearable for a lot of people

The date for that is what puts me off to be honest, not many places to go for shade and 40c would probably kill me off to be honest, I struggled enough last week on Sat/Sun. I'd be there like a shot for an early May Classic!

I know it's only 3 weeks later but the potential for much higher peak temps is increased. My tent was borderline unbearable when it was 27c!

If you are a real classic fan then the weather shouldn't bother you, but there is no real sense in looking ahead because the forecast is changing all the time. Yesterday the forecast for this Sunday was dire, now it is sunny periods. We shall, though, have 40C to worry about. As of now the forecast for 23-29 June is no rain and lots of sun at a pleasant 25C. Compare that forecast in a few days and see just how it may have changed.
