Hmm, just got to hope they haven’t done away with the hook ups they only installed in Tertre Rouge last year, and they’re just trying to eliminate any expectations people who haven’t been before have that they’ll have connections on their pitch like a ‘normal’ campsite.
Don’t suppose we’ll know for sure before arriving, it makes a hell of a difference though for those of us who do the full 10 days.
i think the hook ups on TR will still be there but last year they were seriously overloaded so health and safety may have decided they are unsafe. If we are lucky enough to get camping on TR for 2024 we arrive Monday so if you get there saturday let us know the situation. Cheers Simon

As long as the tickets work out I'll be there as soon as the gates open on the Friday

Or maybe the Sunday if that's when they're opening

Incidentally on the cost of tickets what they have of course done is reduced the price of ACO membership. With that they have also reduced the number of tickets a member can buy at a discounted rate, and this year reduced the number a member can buy in advance.

This presumably has resulted in many more ACO members and probably actually increased demand for tickets as once you are a member you have to go, or at least buy tickets whilst getting everything else organised. They are likely to have a resale site again I suspect so other than giving the ACO an interest free loan there’s no point not buying them!

I'll just add week before Le Mans if you want to go you can always buy tickets cheap so no need to rush really.

Obviously you can't pick and choose but may have better options than the ACO offer when they open the "matrix" to get tickets biglaugh

Well I managed to get a grandstand seat in T17, which is great, but the campsites sold out super fast, so I'm back in Hippodome. I don't mind that too much though as it's pretty quite and I only go there to sleep and shower.

I got the parking I wanted but not the grandstand. Settled with T16 in the end which I hope is half decent. Oh well.

Surprisingly, 10 minutes ago, all of the parking was still available.

Is there any electric hookup at Hippodrome? More importantly can you take beer in from there like Tertre Rouge?

I'm in the outside bit, so no electrical hook up there. Not sure if there is on the interior part.

I didn't take any beer in last year, but the Irish guy next to me took the tram down to the hypermarket and came back with food and beer.

Depends what you mean. Hippodrome isn't a 'track side' campsite so you shouldn't have any issues taking beer into the campsite but that also means you'll need to go through a bag check to get from the campsite to 'track side' - at which point you may be able to take beer in provided it's not in a glass container/what the rules are for 2024/how the individual checking your bag interprets those rules.

According to the ACO pre-sale blurb, there is no electric hookup now in any of the campsites.... but it remains to be seen.

I wonder if the ACO will introduce charging for electricity in the future. they do hate handing out anything for free these days

Very expensive pitches for EVs will come along sometime- probably in some of the best sites now.
