i know its all been said before, but if you don't mind could you re-answer my following questions:

1. which is better kamping nord or blue in your opinion???
2. is there any way of getting an extra car into either of the above campsites?
3. is it possible just to buy an extra car pass?

thanks alot, and if i think of anything else i'll post!!!
Gareth.

In my opinion karting Nord is better, but they're all pretty good.

It would be very difficult to get a car into any camp without a pass. You could try bribery of the guy at the gate, but I don't know if that works. I would suspect that if you leave it until later at night it just might ! A ticket from a previous year has been successfully tried, but lot depends on the guy at the gate.

It is impossible (as far as i know) to buy a pass when you're there.

ok... i've just found out in my "essential guide to le mans" that i can park at bleu, aerodrome, panorama or antares for €16...

has anyone used that service? and how long can i park there?

if i put the car there on tuesday will it cost €16 per day or could i leave it there 'til the following monday for one payment? if so can i drive it in between and have some kind of pass so i don't have to pay again!?!

ooh, also there is reserved parking for €28 would that cover the above questions?

cheers,
Gareth.

As I understand it, you can do what a lot of others do and pay for parking in Bleu and then put a tent up!

There are zero facilities there but, hey, this is Le Mans we're talking about!

€16 gets you parking for the week which I think is Monday - Monday and you can come and go as you like.

If you're hunting for tickets, I've not camped on either Bleu or Karting but a mate of mine was in camping Bleu last year and said he had a great time.

At the end of the day, whichever campsite you end up on will have a great atmosphere.

You will find it very difficult to get an extra car into campsite. However Camping Blue is right next to parking Blue so I'd just bung the spare car in there. In fact any parking is great for any spare cars as you often don't need all the cars once you are there, and all the camping stuff is unpacked!

The first year I went I camped in Parking Blue and the 16 euro ticket is valid for the duration. Every year the ACO say they will clamp down on camping in car parks, however as far as I know they haven't YET!

I haven't camped in Camping Blue so don't know what the facilities are like. Camped in Karting Nord last year and it was fine. Was a brand new brck built wc/shower block, as well as some mobile units. All kept clean by the locals.

This year I am back camping in Expo, camped there in 2001 and was pleased for the shelter when it tipped down with rain, however never did find the showers! Used those for some campsite miles away instead!
