I think the Porsche Club had all their Fireworks confiscated last year at the port. Not sure though.

Spoke to my Dad at the weekend. His view is that the amount of explosive power in the petrol tank of a car so far exceeds the power in a firework it's being over cautious on the part of the ferry companies. Most of the weight of a rocket is clay for balance and metals for the pretty colours.

I have noticed these days that cars seem to be subject to random inspection on the outward journey. What the purpose is I have yet worked out.

Being in half in and half out of the pyro business myself i should mention that it is ILLEGAL for members of the public to buy cat 4 fireworks, i.e. shells, so i'd be surprised if you get offered them

Dont buy them off a bloke down the pub, they are lethal.

lecture over.

Try www.fireworks.eu.com

edited to add: if you want beig stuff, have you considered "cakes"? they are single ignition and go on for up to a minute with loads of effects. Also, most of them basically have preloaded 2" shells in them, but they aren'y subject to the same restrictions. (they are cat 3).

What's the French word for Fireworks? I doubt I'd get far asking after 'travail de feu'.
