Can anyone tell me the benefits of ACO membership? I'm hoping to organise a group trip next year and consequently want to ensure the camping tickets are sorted out ASAP.

Do you get preferential booking of camping places as an ACO member? And more importantly do they confirm you've got the tickets any earlier?

Whilst the ACO membership gives you discounted entrance tickets (6) and discounted camping permits (2 I believe), entrance to their members area and of course breakdown cover, it doesn't give you any preference on camp site bookings.

In fact they do the exact opposite, they write to you in the New Year saying they cannot confirm anything, not even the date of the race!

As an ACO of several year standing, the only advantage is to be able to get seats in their grandstand.

a headache!

they will discout you up to 6 entrance tickets and they will reserve them for you...

you get slight preferencial treatment on camping but you have to be quick or its all gone anyway...

you supposidly get breakdown cover too, but its useless anyway apparatly...

i paid my €88 at the start of the year but i didn't use their tickets 'cos i worked out it would be cheaper to get a "deal" ticket from the MGOC for entrance tickets/ferry then buy camping seperately rather than buying cheap aco tickets then booking seperate ferry+camping...
