Only 3 weeks to go till big sweaty hangovers and that strange rumbling, humming sound that lasts 24hours.

I cant wait!
Definitly getting down there earlier next year.

Nelly, We should arrange a good place to stop for lunch and need to tell the rest of the convoy. Lets try and make it somewhere better than the usual MacDonalds.

Can anyone suggest a good lunch spot? There are 20 cars in our convoy so it needs to be on route and with a big carpark! We are on the Friday am Seacat, Portsmouth - Cherbourg.

Also I know its still 3 weeks but apparently the weather forecast for June is very good.
I wanna go now! I cant wait!

Well, I think we're in for a wet one this year... It's been hot then wet each alternate year since I've been going:

98 - Hot
99 - Wet
00 - Hot
01 - Wet
02 - Hot
03 - Wet?

Though, if the weather forecast is good, I'll keep my fingers crossed... Dunno, we'll see soon enough...

Cheers,

Charles

Was 99 wet. I was there but don't remember it being wet. Was hot wasn't it? Has someone planted false memories?

Ahh, must've been lied to... That was the one year I didn't go and a mate who did claims it did... But he's notoriously crap... Sorry!

02 Hot
03 Hot?

I'll be packing the shades........

Have to say, when put like that it looks loads better! Woohoo!

Edited to add: I must've got my recollection of 98 wrong... As it was my first year, the lack of blazing hot weather was probably not noticed!

Yep 99 was fine, we didn't even have a tent that year, slept by the side of the coach, as when we got back to it, it was already full of people crashed out asleep, bunch of lightweights it was only about 3am

For the 2000 race I worked on the seven year weather cycle -- It worked -- both years (94 & 00) I got sun stroke -- so that suggests it'll be hot as in 97 ?
Blind faith worked then
