last year us intreped explorers planned to find the rouen-les-essarts circuit on the way down to le mans... but in the end we ran out of time and decided not to as we really had no idea where to look!!!

this year we have a bit more time and it might be a bit of an interesting driving break

ok, so i know the circuit doesn't exsist but the public roads it was on are still there so i was wondering if any of you have stopped off there and know where it is?

and if you can give me directions to it... like from the tunnel as that seems to be a good landmark to use... cheers!

cheers, though if anyone can come up with a better map that would be even more useful!!!

also, whilst on the subject of old french racing circuits... anyone know if reims is on the calais-rouen-alecon route!?!

i know you can get to it on the way 2 lemans and i think i know roughly where it is but don't know exactly... any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

We allways do the Rouen circuit, which involves getting very lost around the town and on going roadworks that have lasted the last three years.

Mind you i allways seem to find that long tunnel

Reims is north west ish Although more west than north)from Paris. Not been there myself though.

I did read that they were planning to pull down the old pits that are still standing on the road side, anyone know if they've actually done that yet?

yeah i think the pits have been demolished at both rouen and reims, rouen will be easier to find as i roughly know where it is...

All the pits were still at Reims when I went there last August. It`s N East from Paris and would be a sizable diversion (although do-able) on the way to Le Mans (its about 3 hours from Calais).

The pits at Rouen have been demolished although much of the circuit remains (but a bugger to find).

wont be heading to reims then, might make a 20 minute detour off the autoroute at rouen but it depends on the tunnel situation!!!

can't be arsed to feck around all day finding it, just thought it'd be fun to scream round the bends from the pits, down into the hairpin and blast up the hill on the otherside, through the twisties then on to the long, long straight...

in fact, i may have to break out my copy of gpl

funny.. we were convinced they used the site at Reims for photos that appear in this month's Sprint..

Reims is a long way out of the way of the Le Mans route, BTW

i know they've demolished the pits at rouen, perhaps not reims... i thought they were going to so perhaps they've decided against the idea...

i think reims is more "on route" if we were to go via paris... but we're not!!!
