Just spoke to my Dad who left for Le Mans yesterday and he said there is a diversion as the tunnel is shut! I suppose they may have finished work by Wednesday or Thursday?

Also said be careful, as it is very easy to head towards Paris when on the diversion.

When in Rouen I have always found it very easy to head in the direction I don't want to go. If I want to go to Paris going to Le Mans is easy, if I want to go to Le Mans then going to Paris is easy. I am sure they just renumber all the roads, move them all every yhear just to confuse me!

I allways get lost in Roun its a bloody nightmare, there seems to have been roadworks going for years.
But allways seem to go through the tunnel though.

Anyone who wants to follow us through Rouen Thursday lunchtime, please join in. Depending on whose at the head of the convoy, I can guarantee you a nice visit to Paris, Calais (we're coming from Dieppe so Calais is very possible) or Le Harve. Le Mans is a fictional place to which there are no roads from Rouen so there's no point in even trying..

Bypass Rouen totally - there's some cracking D roads east of the city, challenging, twisty roads going through great countryside, with the occasional 10 mile straight.
Best of all plod seems to go for the main roads - so you can really cane it.
Turn off the A216 at J23/Forges/Lyons la Foret/Les Andelys/Louviers/le Neubourg/L'aigle/St Cosme en Varais/ Le mans.

Enjoy!
If you see an MX5/Elise S2/Impreza/911 C4S convoy on Thursday its the Jimmer Le Mans crew on a mission!
