6. seeing the Bentley spank it in front of me during Thursday qualifying...

And not one of us having a camera, despite being in grandstand and having a perfect view over the fences for a change!!! DOH!

One of my main memories of this year has to be the sheer number of people that just open mouthed stared at the cav throughout the whole weekend.

The number of people i saw (being in the car behind) talking in groups, just stop mid-conversation as it burbled past and just stare in disbelief at the colour, the noise, the fact that some fool actually drove it down! etc was actually really funny. I actually saw one bloke avert his gaze from the Murcielago parked up accross the road, to look at the cav - now that has to be a record!

The pissed up blokes at Arnage i think had a soft spot for it!

The *corner* in '02 mentionded above brings a smile to face every time i think of it. Despite trying to find a road as good as that this year, alas it didn't happen...

I really enjoyed seeing my first nighttime racing at le mans '02. Watching the cars come around the hairpin at top of mulsanne and then hammer away down the straight banging through the gears, has just sent a shiver down my spine as i type!! Truely an awesome sight, feeling, sound!!

Next time, i think its about time we met more PH'ers, so hoping to have a few mad memories when we do. We saw a few this year which was good fun. We learnt of pistonheads through seeing the cerberas behind the grandstands in '02.....

This year we were also down for longer, so took in more of crazy friday etc, had more runs around the circuits and generally got a better feel for the place (last year, we were only down friday night to monday morning) - so that made it more fun....

Your cruising for a bruising Mr Agger

I think the cruising bit was how you met her in the first place

I'll buy you a beer at BTaP

Being an old timer there are so many so pardon the opportunity to reminisce...

On a racing front:

# Watching Jaguar trying / failing heroically but then finally nailing it in 1988 & 1990.

# The old pits complex before they built the current concrete thing created a fantastic atmosphere especially at the end of the race.

# Johnny Herbert screaming round in the Mazda in 1991 to an improbable victory

# All the Group C cars especially the Peugeots which just went so quickly.

# JJ Lehto, Macca F1 in the rain at night in 1995 - star piece of driving.

# and of course Bentley winning this year

And on the social front memories that will probably only be significant to what became an increasing handful of people...

# Darren going through the round window
# JM taking two cars and managing to crash into one while driving the other
# Fertilizer and fireworks
# Exploding toilet blocks
# Hunadieres before the police clampdown
# Firewalking
# Commander Bill--y-a-Bubs
# If it makes any easier think of it as a long hard yellow c*ck.
# Burning the ars*s of the lecherous brain surgeons
# The Keeler wall of sound
# Floods and Heatwaves
# BM being scared sh*tless by somewhat exhuberant driving by ML
# The biker boys pinching the arse of a female riding pillion on another bike at 120+
# Ingenious methods to cool the beer
# Beer mountains
# Our posse peaking at about 80 - 90 people but still unable to get this camping lark properly sorted.
# 60ft trees being dragged down the main road to form flagpole.
# Stag being plied with champagne and then cellophaned naked to a tree !
# Ready stop death
# That roundabout in Houx Annexe
# The fantastic assortment of cars that we've bought down over the years
# and finally this year mad moments on the way down in a slightly modified 1970 Europa (GPS 140 and accelerating) which didn't make it back under its own steam so we had to resort to a lift in an RS4 where we hit 165 with four up.

Great memories...roll on 2004

I think my favourite memory of Le Mans has to be my mate Graham getting soo pissed in 2000 and managing to spend the whole night walking the wrong way round the circuit from the funfair to Parking Bleu (about 12 miles). He arrived back at 9.30 a.m. covered in scratches, still pissed having lost his mobile when he fell over in the woods!!

The noise of the Corvettes and the Panos at night is something everybody should hear at least once.

Driving my TVR Chimaera on the track with TVR car club and the Morgan Car club Saturday Morning before the race 2002. I took a video camera and love watching it over and over again. Been to Le Mans 10 times now and i am hooked! Top Ten Most Memorable Momments:

1. The First Time I went and lost my Le Mans Cherry!
2. Watching the Viper wheelspinning and doing donuts on the track after the race.
3. The 170 mph I achieved on the way down from Calais.
4. The Camping Experience with Huge Flagpole, Steak Hash'e on the BBQ and Whole Salmon hanging off the sides. finding a hose pipe long enough to reach the family sized swimming pool.
5.Seeing the Tuscan R competing in the great race
6. The Parade des Pilots in the old town. Watching Enzos, Vettes, Lamborghinis, Zondas and T.V.Rs wheelspinning for the crowds.
7. The smell of Petrol and Beautifull sounds from all the different engines, the glowing brake disks at night. Did anyone else buy the C.D?
8. That funny potato and ham dish that they cook in those huge frying pans and the German Beer Kella Tent.
9. Being on the Le Mans DVD at the end waving huge flagpole 2002.
10. Seeing so many amazing cars in one small town and campsites classics and supercars. I could go on forever the experience is electric everytime go for 5 days to a week fantastic.

Magic Lemans Memories

1/ The first year we went when after the 24 Hour Race my wife said to me at 10pm that evening, with the cars flying round the circuit...

"How much longer are the cars racing for?"

2/ When Flasher and twenty more of us went into the Ba Ba Ba ba Caravan in 2001 ....Jesus

3/ When Donlift decided to drive around drunk (after consuming a whole bottle of Whisky) on the campsite playing softmetal albums full blast. Then with everybody shouting at him, but feeling very scared as his TVR headlamps flicked across everybody tents while they were in bed. Patrick was just laughing like a madman with a fag hanging out of the side of his mouth.

4/The women in the toilets licking the sheets of toilet paper as she passed them out at Houx Annex while eating her breakfast

5/ Mel and Ben drenching the `nutter' this year at the campsite. Just before he said...
"I mad "
then he tried to beat the Carzee'z up

6/ Watching Donlifts face as a huge pine cone fell out from the tree canopy and cracked his bonnet in front of our eyes..
