Best lease car deals available?
Discussion
Is there a best time to investigate lease deals, end of month ect.
I am looking for a car for the family duties, so estate or 4x4ish thing & unfortunatly the way things work out it will be the car I drive most so trying to balance fun over price.
Seen a VW Passat 2.0tdi estate for £238.00 or Volvo XC60 R-Design for £278.00 both personel deals, anyone got anything better?

Gah. I hate seeing deals like that when I'm only 9 months into a more expensive deal on a Q3 ArsE92 said:

Is the base spec diesel up to the job, or will I spend 2 years hating the engine?
Its a brand new engine so we wont be completely sure.It depends what you are after, in any case.
If you are expecting a brisk fun drive then look elsewhere. A heavy car like an XC60 is never going to be fun or quick with <200bhp.
On the other hand if you want a family car with loads of torque and adequate power that theoretically returns getting on for 70mpg and is bulletproof then it's perfect.

What I want is an F11 M5. What I'm prepared to pay for is somewhat less than that.It depends what you are after, in any case.

I'm certain that a XC60/Yeti/generic diesel estate will do everything I could possibly need a car to do.
I just can't bring myself to actually want one.
Have you got kids E?
FOr ages I tended to have a family car and then a car for me.
Recently I realised that most of my spare time is spent with kids and that when I drive around with the kids I drive in the same manner no matter which car hence you have all the disadvantages of a performance car with none of the fun.
May be an age thing too.
Once upon a time I swapped a 4200 for an XC90 and I despised that xc90 with a passion, and I hated my wife for making me feel selfish.
Over time the xc90 became one of my favourite cars I have owned and I grew fond of it in a way that I never got with performance cars. Just a greater association with the family and the fact that it felt so bulletproof in comparison.

Was the XC90 on a lease? When my time comes and I'm forced into buying a "family" car, I think I'll be aiming for a CLS Estate, or an M5/550i Touring (or whatever the equivalent may be in 10 years' time). I'm oddly excited at the prospect of an estate car but don't think I'd want a 4x4. FOr ages I tended to have a family car and then a car for me.

I felt like that, and still do a bit.Although the novelty of the higher driving position counteracts the lack of driving fun. Like when you hire a van and it's quite cool.
If I am not in something quick I definitely prefer the higher up 4x4 now I regularly drive both

I have regular access to a LWB Transit when I need to scratch that itch..
Fair enough. Im just of a mindset that a family 4x4 is st to drive, a family estate is st to drive so I just focus on other stuff. For me there is no merit in trying to stay as close as possible to a decent driving experience because the closer you are to a car you like, the more you will compare it negatively. Id rather have something completely different.I think you are correct and that we are derailing the thread somewhat. The thing that bugs me about big 4x4's is the st mpg. A friend with a Range Rover doesn't see 25mpg, at least in a touring version of a saloon I should still be able to have some fun ya those mpg. I wafted around in my dad's old E38 740i a few years ago, it really isn't for me until I'm at least 50.
