No worries and thanks.
This model of 3 is actually a Focus underneath. Mazda took the platform and fettled it. My one is the revvy 2.0 litre. It is n/a, but when the revs hit around 4k the timing is changed. Its like a small turbo kicks in. It isn't that fast, but noticeable.
They are fun pointy cars. They do suffer from naff fuel consumption, rust in some cases and high ved cost. They aren't that popular and my model seems to have been bought by a lot of old people.
Chain timed engine too, so no need to mess around with a cambelt.

AutoTrader has my business now.
Also, I've had my first sniff today. Text from someone in London offering me £1700 without even viewing. Had the old 'what's your best price?' text, followed up by a story about them being in London, can't view, too far, will I just accept the £1700 etc.
Fun begins.

Nice one! Good luck with the sale and let us know how you get on Also, I've had my first sniff today. Text from someone in London offering me £1700 without even viewing. I've recently bought one, to replace a Focus, which has the rust issue. I wasn't really aware of them until the wife suggested them because she 'likes Mazdas' or at least likes the look of them.
Turns out they're also great to drive, so we're both happy. Yours looks in much better nick than mine.
There's a Mazda 3 facebook group which might be worth a try. Good luck selling it.

Good luck!
Just ensure it`s clean, let him look over it and see what he thinks. Obviously retain the keys whilst he`s poking around. Sort all the paperwork out so it`s to hand.
To be honest it looks fantastic value as is, I`d be reluctant to take the £1,700 offered for it from London, if my wife wasn`t so age averse I`d be looking for something similar to replace her Jazz.

Thanks. It is sort of clean, but I used it at the weekend. Oh well, it's clean enough. Just ensure it`s clean, let him look over it and see what he thinks. Obviously retain the keys whilst he`s poking around. Sort all the paperwork out so it`s to hand.

I have given my home address as I don't want to seem like a scammer and meet him somewhere neutral.
I'll hold the keys. I've asked him for proof of insurance to cover a test drive if he wants one. If not, he can sit in the passenger seat and I'll drive.
It is a good car, so I won't be shifting much below the asking price. We'll see how it goes.

To be honest, unless Corby guy fails to turn up, it`ll be gone by this evening...
Hopefully. But I don't know how we will sort payment this evening with the banks closed.I'd also have another £400 split around 4 other pockets, in case you were an awkward bugger

If I were coming from Corby and I really wanted the car, I'd have £1500 in used £20s to wave under your nose at negotiating time.

If any money is exchanging hands, it'll be done in a bank and checked there and then.

Going to the bank is massive overkill - the likelihood of forged currency being used to buy a cheap Mazda is almost negligible.

It's the one thing I am worrying about. Don't want to take some cash, get to the bank and be told it's fake.

The chance is minuscule, and easily mitigated. This really isn't something to concern yourself with.
