They were ahead of their time. I bet we'll see lots more coupe themed SUVs over the next few years. This place will go into meltdown, I look forward to reading the ever more ridiculous and judgmental posts.

The bloke across the road's son has an X6M which is driven in the manner you would expect. Like an aggressive, entitled, smug, helmet. It's an expensive car and I would have though that for the money available there are countless better cars.

Although considerably better looking, the Pontiac Aztec is probably a cheaper alternative.

I actually like them. But what are you looking for in an alternative? For example, if all you're after is a car with 4x4 wheels (by which i assume you mean large wheels) then pick any car and stick some 20" rims on it.

I've an X6 - brilliant car - virtually defies the laws of physics the way it drives and you get the added bonus of being able to look down at people on the road (you know, like the people posting in this thread smile )

Being a powerful 4x4 with torque vectoring, you also get to leave people sitting at the lights and those MX-5 drivers are choking on your dust as they spin their wheels and take off like a snail on crack redcard

I think they also look great too, like an huge big animal unleashed on the road. Grrrr!!!

I went to Tesco the other day and when I came back out, I swear my X6 had swallowed a fiesta whole - true story tank

As an X6 owner, the stereotype means you are automatically hated by everyone else on the road which is a pretty neat feature too and its a feature that comes free with the car, even on the base model. Nice.

I also have a Passat Alltrack Estate too - another 4x4.

Being an X6 and a Passat owner does make you a little Jekyl and Hyde though.

I wear a tweed flat cap with a 'just do it' logo stiched into it - I subrscribe to the Sunday Sport and the Sunday Telegraph - I wear comfy slippers in the car but with Nike Air Max soles glued on the bottom and my personality is a brash ego-tistical gentleman with the long term goal of creating global peace so that I will eventually have the opportunity to fk it all up again punch

Cars can do that to a man eek

I actually like the X6 paperbag

They weren't the first to do the 'coupé' roofline on a SUV though;

There's one on AT for just £4K
