come to think of it i have hardly seen any XJs that are less than about 3 years old. Are they one of those type of cars which were very popular at first but people have just stopped buying? The "luxury" one is like a base model too. Not sure what that means in terms of kit.

It has inspired me to look at used ones for when the S8 goes back.

It's all very tempting :-) I went to Jag dealership yesterday but they didn't have time to squeeze me for test drive without appointment, so have one for Wednesday now. Prices are quite competitive but I think it means they can be even better in 3rd and 4th quarter if sales number are not as expected.

ha i know you are in the same boat as me but slightly ahead! I would be concerned about getting another Jag though; they really are poor quality. Like an expensive Citroen.

  • looks at your username*.
I swung past the Jaguar dealer and they felt well screwed together. The XE feels very compact inside.

Any idea if now is too early to book a replacement lease for December delivery?

Depends on the funder, you'd need to ask as some manufacturer campaigns are for the here and now rather than 6 months down the line

I got in touch with mlq. The chap was not very accommodating with this deal. Says only blue black white available and additional £25pm at it. Takes it upto 8231 over 2yrs.

Has anyone dealt with this company before?
Are they reputable and has anyone ordered a grey?

Anyone know of this is genuine
and when delivery may be?

Volkswagen Golf Hatchback 2.0 TSI 310 R 5dr 4MOTION DSG

£200.00 Per Month, INC VAT
Rental Profile 9+23
Annual Mileage 10k Miles p/a
Initial Rental £1,800.00
Additional Fees £700.00

Might be an error and fees are quite high https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...

But if it's real, worth calling VW dealers to check it out.

Got an email from Motor Lease direct today they are offering the following

Golf R
5 Door
Metallic
DSG
RFL included
10000 miles per year
Initial payment £2500
Monthly rental £225
Delivery ETA 6 weeks

Exess mileage is at 8p. Is this a good deal?

For some cars you have to wait 5-6 months if there are delays. I never stopped looking at the deals and noted down the best ones for reference. I also visit dealerships and take test drives in different models, so I can pull the trigger if something good comes up. I know a lot of people order cars without test driving but I don't want to take the risk of being stuck in a car I don't like.

In most cases you can order in one quarter and car have to be registered by end of next one. So from 1st of July most deals should be ok unless there are some specific restrictions.

Stratstone have the dirty diesel equivalent, for £300 down, £300/month. Same 5k/year.

That's an XE. Other one was an XF.
...and was also a diesel (although buying an oil burner for 5k miles/yr seems a bit daft.)
Buying? Who's buying!? Wrong thread mate.

Leasing a diesel at 5k/yr isn't a problem

Isn't it more like 2,500 + (23 x 225) = 7,675?

Buying, leasing, borrowing, whatever.

If fuel economy is taken out of the equation why would you pay the premium on a Diesel engine when you can have more fun in a petrol for less?

Still seems like a good deal though!

Because you aren't paying a premium, you're paying less. The deal is on the diesel. It's not on the petrol by the look of things.
"Buying, leasing, borrowing, whatever" doesn't really cut it on a leasing thread wink

When you play with the calculator and change intitial deposit to 6 months the monthlies increase to 471...

I'm pretty dubious of the deal, the monthlies coming to exactly £200 on the dot seem very odd. Is that just me?

Regarding the Golf R lease deal through MLD...have to say I feel like I've once again wasted my time considering it and filling out finance forms! Rang around a few VW dealers and it's not VWFS funding it. Haven't managed to get MLD back on the phone...
