VW leasing.
BCA agree to buy the car from VW for x amount.....so its in their interest to pick up on faults on your car, as they then get any money paid for faults. None of these faults are remedied, as it gets chucked into auction (usually closed dealer auction) Some of the examiners try it on and mark down any mark and scrape on the car, even if within bca guidelines and leave it to you to appeal it with vwfs.
The golf r's cheap leases were prime example...where bca insist on 2 inspections...one on pickup and one a few days earlier. (You werent allowed to hand car back on first inspection)
Note, this is what my bca inspector told me.
As mentioned above, BCA do not buy the car, they are paid by VWFS to inspect, collect and often dispose of the car. The initial inspection is by a qualified BCA inspector who will give you the recharges for any rectification work. I believe you can choose to then complete any works but often the recharge figures are so low it's not really worth it. You also then need to prove to The end of contracts team the work has been done properly.
The second inspection will be the collecting driver within a coupe of days of the initial inspection. As they are liable for the car the driver needs to cover themselves however this inspection does not matter unless the car has gained some serious damages since the initial inspection.
The car is then taken to be either distributed via the VW network or sold via auction (where BCA Charge the seller an entry fee and the buyer sale charges).

How far have you got, have you done the initial bit over the phone, credit check and passed bank details ?
Are you not sure it's guaranteed until we get paperwork or written confirmation?
You've got me worried now, I thought it was a done deal given it's from a main dealer ?
I'm in the same boat, did the application on the phone on Monday, passed credit checks etc, but has been silence since then. Are you not sure it's guaranteed until we get paperwork or written confirmation?
You've got me worried now, I thought it was a done deal given it's from a main dealer ?
Would be interested if anyone has got anything "official" back yet. However, I guess possibly they are just busy.

Jags are still advertised on WhatCar. I looked at Jaguar Xf Saloon 2.0i [250] Portfolio 4dr Auto and it comes at £8389.12 for two years which I think is good deal. I had a test drive in it and it was ok except a bit noisy engine at low speeds. I think Portfolio is worth extra considering spec. Unfortunately metallic paint is not free.

Thought I'd add a deal.
A year ago I got an Audi A4 1.4 (150ps) sport on 1x £956 followed by 23x £156 over 24 months on 10,000 miles PA.
15.4% of RRP - feels like they are paying me to drive it.
I got a very similar deal on the Avant from Stable - £1010 + 23 x £165A year ago I got an Audi A4 1.4 (150ps) sport on 1x £956 followed by 23x £156 over 24 months on 10,000 miles PA.

Noticed recently the S Line saloon has been cheaper than the Sport and Black Edition only slightly more.
Central UK Vehicle Leasing have some decent A4 deals right now at around 20% of list price:
1.4 TFSI 150 / Manual / 24 months / 5k p/a / all INC VAT
S Line Saloon - £2,400 + £161.99/month
Sport Saloon - £2,400 + £167.99/month
Black Edition Saloon - £2,400 + £177.59/month
S Line Avant - £2,400 + £187.19/month
Black Edition Avant - £2,400 + £201.59/month
I'd phone around to try and get a better deal, but that's a decent start

Depends by manufacturer of course, but my 208 GTi had a bad wheel scrape on a diamond cut alloy - they quoted £65 for repair on inspection. (but waived this on the invoice as it was the only damage) Peugeot garage wanted me to get a new wheel (for £300) as it was beyond repair in their opinion.
Did you look at the photo of my wheel. Was it on the spoke and similiar damage or just a circumference surface scratch?http://imgur.com/a/kXRQ4
Thanks everyone for the responses think im going to risk and hold out getting it done.

I will chase later today as he said 48 hours from Monday. It does make you suspicious after this length of time.
A question for those with existing PCH deals from VWFS; have any of you extended the terms of your agreement?
I'm edging towards the 18 month mark in a 2 year deal and am trying to decide how to proceed. I have a very good deal on the table to 'purchase' (PCP) a new car with delivery in a few months. Although it will be a more interesting/enjoyable car, it will also be significantly more expensive overall than the deal I am on. Therefore, I am currently weighing up a head versus heart decision.
If anyone has extended their contract with VWFS (i.e. from 2 to 3 years), do the monthlies stay the same? I'm happy with the annual mileage so don't need to change the terms just extend them.
Cheers,
Paul

Give them a ring and find out Paul I'm sure you can do it but they will renegotiate your monthly payment. I'm edging towards the 18 month mark in a 2 year deal and am trying to decide how to proceed. I extended. They offered very very favourable terms to the point where it would have been madness to say no. I added mileage as well though so not sure how it would affect your monthlies specifically.I'm edging towards the 18 month mark in a 2 year deal and am trying to decide how to proceed. Overall I think credit where it's due, VWFS seem to be very fair. Car went back with no damage charges even though I was sure I'd be charged. Had virtually zero fuel in it, again not a problem. All good.
