Just signed up for a Golf R lease.

Golf R 310 Estate DSG
8k miles PA
£930 upfront
£310 a month
3 + 23

Does this seem like a pretty good deal?
Hard to call but it's roughly £1100 more expensive than the deals that came out at the start of Q3. I'd be tempted to wait until 1st October, but it's still an unknown.
I've been told I can cancel at any time so I'm sure if a better deal came out around October I could jump on that.

Delivery is expected in November.

Sorry to go off topic but do websites exist where you can advertise your existing lease car to see if anyone wants to take it on?

I'm nearly 2 months into a 24 month deal on my 4C spider anniversary and I'm considering trying to pass it on.
Off topic, but is the 4C a big let down then?

The S5 and S4 deals at end of Q2 were really good. As mentioned these offers are about £1k up on those numbers.

I thought S4 and S5 sales/production was on hold for a few months? Must be a long wait for it if you order one!

Looks like another brilliant Audi S4 deal !!!
Just phoned up about this.

They have 3 MY2017 (previous iteration) stock cars. They also are on smaller 18inch alloys rather than the usual 19inch.

Quote based on 6 + 23 with 10k pa came out at:

£2315 down
23 monthlies of £385
Fee of £180
15.6 pence per mile excess mileage charge

18" alloys are standard on MY2017. 19" is standard on new cars.

They're listing S4 Avants for about £30/month more, which the website says are factory order...

You can get a new order on the S4 Avant via CVL for £327 / £3600 down (£11121 total), which I think is much nicer. I've got a build date of 21/08 on my S4 no mention of it being held up. There was something saying they had stopped taking new orders, but no impact to current slots.

Would love an S4, but I've already come from ~£8.2K on a maintained Seat Cupra 300 ST DSG, to ~£9.2K on a S3 Black Edition S Tronic. So another step to ~£11K is just too far for me right now! smile

Audi RS3 Sportback up at £455 to £472 on 9+35 for 10k mpa, via Gateway2Lease or UChoose.

Note, 3 years, not 2.

Works out around 30-32% of RRP on the 24-month ratio. Pretty good, by usual RS3 lease-price standards.

Given the normally glacial RS3 depreciation, this model would probably work out cheaper if bought outright with cash or personal loan and sold privately on AT / PHC three years later. But not everyone has access to ~£45k in a lump sum, so this may offer a decent(ish), alternative back door into RS3 ownership for some.

The company is called UChoose, based in Crewe. They had a few cars left yesterday.

Ha. See bottom of previous page where I posted about moving my lease on! There are a couple I've found: http://www.swap-a-lease.co.uk/ and http://www.takemylease.co.uk/. Take my lease is free as far as I can tell, swap a lease is a paid-for service.

I may experiment with the free one to start with. My vwfs lease has to be transferred to a limited company, not an individual, so check your t's and c's.

Edit: Having had a closer look at both those sites, they aren't at all busy and there are very few cars on there, so I don't think this is a "thing" yet in the UK and I'll just have to dump mine and pay the 65% of remaining payments as a penalty.

Edited by RayPike on Friday 18th August 08:17
Cheers. Yup, doesn't look like they are that active. I'm not in any rush so I won't be dumping mine. Happy to keep it but it won't get as much use so seems a bit silly

Far from it. It's a brilliant car! I'm using it less these days after having used it as a daily driver for a while. I thought I could make a two car combo work but it's starting to annoy me so guess a sensible all rounder is the way forward. I also worry about it when I bring it in to work as I work in a slightly sketchy part of Leeds. If I can't find anyone to take it on then I'll keep hold of it, just seems silly having it parked up most of the time.

I got it on a 10+23 at £399.95. Had it for nearly 2 months so 21 months left. Would be looking to get some of my initial payment back.

Anyone have experience of end of lease charges with VWFS? My GTD was inspected and returned three weeks ago. Inspector told me I'd be charged £130 for a "dodgy respray job" on the bumper and tried to make me sign to say I accept the charge. I said no thank you and off he went...

I would have expected to hear something by now?

How much was it if you don't mind me asking? I have a wheel that needs refurbing I wasn't sure if I should get it done or not.

How long did it take to send the bill? Over three weeks seems quite some time.

Always appeal any post-lease charges. Shout loud enough and many will wipe the fee (because they want you to take another of their models in the future).
