Tell you what there must be some poor saps out there who'll buy anything. Just heard an ad on the radio for an Astra SRi on PCH for just 215/m plus initial deposit over 3 years. As the ad progressed I wondered how much the deposit would be, I thought it would probably be a 9+ deal so in the region of 2k...

When it came to the end of the ad and the fast talking t's and c's lo and behold the deposit was.... wait for it... £4945! So that's a 23+ 35 'deal'...

Where do I sign? hehe

Edit. Found it!

Wow. double wow. The world now spins around marketing - if you can market a turd well enough, dumb people will flock to buy it. #smallvictoriesmyarse

**Astra featured within the TV Commercial is Astra SRi Nav 1.4i 150PS Turbo in Lava Red with 18 inch bi-colour alloys, IntelliLux headlights with £5,474 advance rental then 47 monthly rentals of £238. Excess miles over contracted mileage of 32,000 over 48 months charged at 10.46 pence per mile. Personal contract hire offer, you will not own the car.
Almost 17k over 4 years for an astra on 8k miles/yr.

fk me sideways. RRP is ~18k.

Moral of the story, 99% of lease deals are cack. Make sure you're in the 1%
I am sure I saw an advert at the weekend for a Merc C200 (or whatever the model was) - only about £2xx a month! Great!

Oh, wait... with a £5k deposit mentioned in the blurry small print...

It's jaw-droppingly bad, that.

The worst bit is that this appears to be a manufacturer campaign, not just some rogue dealer. http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/offers-finance/cars_offe...

However, OTR price on that SRi Nav is over £20K, plus the "desirable options" add another £1800 or so

Broadspeed are offering 20% discount on those as well...

Will I be lynched for posting a used car here?

https://www.motorpoint.co.uk/vehicleadvert/vauxhal...

Less than a year old, and £10,799 plus admin. A personal loan on that car for four years, to own it outright, albeit without some of the options, would be £123 per month with the same deposit.

Hi folks,

I ve pulled the trigger on a A4 and basically it's too late to adjust my spec but I wanted to tint the windows. I was just wondering if I got this done else where when I come to hand it back would I have to have it took off or just hand it back with the tint

Probably better off asking the companies involved....

It's actually just under £4k, but it's only a £14,880 car so that's 27% of RRP (and you're likely to get some discount on the RRP)... So it's OK but not a brilliant deal.

Ah yes I see, not sure what I did with the maths to mess it up lol

I thought they retailed for more than that but I guess its a lower spec - no wonder there's so many on the roads.

Don't bother with the Leaf enquiry, it's OOS and they're now only selling the 30KW model for £250~.

She is looking for a hatch, must be in stock or very quick delivery (less than 6 weeks). Amortises to £250 a month a max, although £220 is preferable. Would prefer a bit of power, petrol and manual.
Sorry for breaking the rules of the thread... But have you considered financing a nearly-new one?

We looked for a good lease deal for a decent spec Cooper recently and couldn't find anything. But all of the packs/options depreciate very quickly, and at 2 years old you can get £6,000 worth of options for barely a £500 premium. From what I've seen they don't depreciate too fast after the first couple of years, so your amortised costs should be decent.

The Chili pack is essential IMO, it adds some important features. The Media XL pack is also fantastic.
There's loads of approved-used ones to choose from, and you can extend the manufacturers warranty so you're covered when it's older than 3 years, as well as the very well priced free servicing pack (which was included in ours until 2020). In our case they delivered for free (as well as giving a decent discount) 400 miles away, so you can look nationally.

For example: 2 years old, Chili & Media XL packs, free servicing for another 3 years, metallic, armrest, etc: https://www.approvedusedminis.co.uk/approvedminis/...

Sorry, let the lynching commence getmecoat
Of course weve considered nearly new lol...We are not just throwing ourselves into a dumb deal just because the vehicle is new lol? If you were to spend some time looking into our cause you will notice that the vehicles on offer under lease agreements are already heavily discounted and in some cases the same cost or possibly even cheaper than nearly new. Our RFL and break down is already included and if you include maintenance and tyres you have nothing more to worry about and so can guarantee that what you pay monthly is exactly what your vehicle is and going to cost you.

I would never want to own outright a vauxhall. The whole point of lease is to be able to afford to drive a more premium brand that is also less likely to break down or cause quality of build issues.

And has anyone got any stock of VAG group cars with the 1.4 TSI engine? Freedom are quoting 22 weeks for the Leon, and wouldn't quote me at all for the VW Tiguan 1.4.

Anyone looking for a nippy little hatch?

Brand new Seat Ibiza - 115ps FR - not much discount available on these at present so works out at just under 25% amortised.

Planning on picking one up for the missus provided she stops using her car as a mobile tackroom (horse widowers will know what I am talking about!).

Lots of discount available from Broadspeed and DriveTheDeal already if cash is an option. Can't see the pic you posted but

Asked for a quote and these are now £200 a month..

I'm aware of that and we lease our main car (we just wanted "an SUV", so it was easy to find a good deal), but when we wanted something specific (high spec 5dr Cooper D) I couldn't find any good lease deals but did find really good approved-used deals on high spec MINIs. 4 new premium tyres, manufacturers warranty and breakdown, free servicing, £0 RFL - for a decently discounted price with free delivery... IMO it wasn't worth paying a hefty premium for a lease with the same spec as ours. But yes, it's not brand new and there's a risk it'll be worth less than expected in a couple of years so we may still lose out.

Your search is broader than ours as you're considering a few different models, so hopefully you'll find a good lease deal on one smile

Those Merc deals on TV are the ones that make me going mental at home! Altogether it's about £450 /month to lease an A200 amg-line (something or other) on a 3 year 10k/yr lease. FMS.
