I had operating lease (that's how it was recorded on my credit file) and road tax was included. But heard/read about cases where second year wasn't included, even when people took the cars on the same deal from the same dealership and some of them got worse deals. Def. worth checking when considering £40K+ car.
Yes, for 30% extra confusion my MB contract hire was also described as Daimler Operating Lease on my credit file, but it definitely wasn't OL, it was regular contract hire (both years tax included in my case). Ignore how it's described on the file/direct debit.

With an OL contract you definitely only get the first year tax included.

On a 2 year lease, do you need to have the car serviced at the 2 year period just before handing it back or just the one service after 12 months ? Apologies if it's a daft question !

One for the small print I suspect although something on my 'things to do' list for when my car goes back next year

Its on a fixed oil change at 2y
The question is if I give it back a week early am I exempt the liability of having it serviced?

Service cost will be £270 so worth it as a weeks rental is 1/3 of that

Comments?

I have a focus on 2 year lease.
Has to be serviced every 12500 miles or 2 years which ever is soonest.
I serviced the car 5 weeks late(after service required light came on) so in my option car will not want service till 5 weeks after I hand it back so I will not be liable...

Don't know about Ford but on Merc or VW you'd likely get penalised for the first service being late.

Had thought of that but ford garage said will not affect warranty which as far I see is all that matters.
Also was out of the country so was serviced as soon as I could and garage could take car.
So if leasing company try to penalise me I will be ready for them....lol

I had a golf gtd on a two year lease but due to my low mileage it needed a service after one year. I sent it back a few months early so didn't need to have a second done and Huddersfield Vw price matched a quote from a local garage for the first service so it only cost me about £100 for that doing.

That actually made me laugh out loud.

Couple of things I'm hoping someone can help me with...

Looking for a Skoda Superb Sportline hatch TDI DSG. Best I've seen so far is with main dealer on a 3+23 profile. £817.32 up front and then £272.44. Has anybody found anything cheaper. I've seen brokers offer it cheaper by a few quid a month but then they always seem to have a processing fee etc. on top so actually main dealers (Horton in this instance) are coming up trumps.

Secondly, if I order from main dealer and they subsequently offer it cheaper towards the end of the quarter and before I've taken delivery, am I able to get them to match that price or cancel the order without penalty?

Evening all, leasing newbie here.

I have always had cheap sub £4K used cars but am thinking about going for a new car on a personal lease.

I started looking at Golfs, Octavia etc but found a Volvo V90 for £279 per month with a £1080 initial rental, 8k per miles per year on an 18 month lease. I think this is a good deal and might be an ideal was to try leasing over a short term - am I right that the figures seem good?

Thanks

James

Have you looked at the Arteon deals? They're the same price as this, for a car that retails for close on £10k more than the Skoda, although they do share a lot of things under the skin.

I can't seem to find any comparative ones on the R-line diesel DSG, just the elegance.

All the deals are on the petrol. I've just signed up for a 3+23 R line DSG at £280

I’m not a diesel basher but petrol seems to be the sensible choice at the moment, around my area petrol is 4p a litre cheaper than diesel. Which is good when my wife runs a Mini Cooper S. Plus petrols sound loads better than a derv

Guys, how often do nvs tend to alter the price of their deals? Just wondering if the octavia vrs 245 deal is gonna hang around for long at that price?

That’s a really good price - I ordered an S90 last month and whilst hunting round the best I could find the equivalent V90 was about £2k more over 2yrs.

Yeah, the V90s seem to be a lot more expensive

The new deal isn't wildly cheaper than the last deal, so I think they'll be available for around this price for a while. Just my opinion though
