This is probably the cheapest around for the Abarth 124.

http://www.researchgarage.co.uk/abarth/new-car-off...

Have been tempted for so long and looks a tremendous little car! Only thing holding me back is the exhaust is an absolute animal even when not pushed hard. Has anyone received their scorpione models yet and can give some feedback?

The scorpione has a list price c.£3k cheaper than the ‘spider’ but apart from different seats and being limited to just the black and white paint I can’t fathom why there’s such a big gap.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 6.4 V8 Hemi SRT Auto available on a 1+23 with 10k mpa for £794 a month.

Works out around ~28% of the ~£70k RRP.

A reasonable deal, with very low deposit, for a rare and big V8 with ~460bhp and 0-60 in 4.8secs.

Dread to think what that would cost to run laugh
Look st, handle the same. Unrefined. Big mistake. Mind you it will depreciate 50% in 12 months so the cheapest way to own one.

Has anyone been had their Škoda Octavia 245 vrs order cancelled? Orders after November are likely to be cancelled. I’m in that boat so I’m looking for alternatives. Fast auto estate is needed Cupra 300 is looking like the best option or any alternatives?

I ordered one of the Scorpiones from Research two weeks ago, I was hoping it might have been delivered to them this by the end of this week but looks like it'll be next week now so can't give you exact differences as I've not actually sat in one yet...

From the spec sheet that came with my order the only differences are:

No Brembo brakes
No heated seats
No full leather seats (these are leather and 'microfiber' which I assume is akin to suede)
No alcantara trim around the instrument cluster or dash

Heated seats would have been nice but it was cheap enough to me to forgo them - the Scorpione was going for £199 on 8k 3+23, I upped it to 9k miles for about £6 per month more (8k probably would have been enough for me but the excess mileage is just under 14ppm so worked out at roughly half the price per mile over the extra 1k).

I picked mine up last saturday from Research Garage. The scorpione lacks the brembo brakes, heated leather seats, reverse sensors and has plasticy trim. I think the normal spider has alacantra trim but could be wrong.Other niggles are that there is no 12v socket and the car comes with yellowish halogen lights. if anyone knows how to upgrade these please let me know.

None of this detracts from the fun that this car is. Although much slower than my previous M135 on the paper it certainly doesnt feel it. It sounds much better than the MP exhaust on the BMW. Its also got a slip diff. The entrrtainment system is decent and lets you plug in usb and connect audio through phone which you can control. You have to buy an SD card to activate the sat nav for £400. You also have to buy the slot in cup holders. However I have no regrets getting the car and look forward to 24000 miles in it.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Is the 12V socket not tucked away up in the passenger footwell?

Also I beleive you can buy the nav cards off eBay for £65, I've seen quite a few reports of people doing this on other forums with no complaints. £100 for the cup holders is a joke though!

Where did you hear this?

Ordered mine 31/10 from a dealer (hortons) though yet to sign anything or put any money down. I do have a build confirmation thing though.

Apologies for some basic questions (have lived overseas for the last 20 years).

1. I assume when people say "9+23" or whatever, that means there is a 9 month payment upfront? But the total length of the contract is 24 months (i.e. not 32?).
2. At the end of the contract is there a right to buy? Is that price fixed at the beginning of the lease?
3. What is peoples experience with dealers claiming excess wear and tear at the end of the lease?

1 yes
2 most of the time though not always competitive
3 no personal experience of leases but company cars has always been reasonable. The leasing company aren’t generally out to screw you in my view. I’ve also seen people here with diamond cut alloys paying less than 100 quid for a damaged wheel which is way cheaper than you’d get done privately

Thanks

I ask on point 3 as we had an experience with an Audi dealer here in Germany where they handed us a bill at the end of the three year terms for €6,000.

Wifey’s Golf R went back in May after two year PCH. Marked dashboard, two little bumper scuffs, two alloys scuffed about 3” and a small supermarket dent in the drivers door all of which were picked up.

The only chargeable one was the dent.........£36.

Very very good experience and the inspector confirmed they never expect a showroom condition car after two years just a car that reflects reasonable wear and tear.

Damn, I wish I hadn't been so anal about it - the Tiguan is due back within weeks and it's far better than your average showroom condition for a 2 year old car. Actually it might be less swirled than when new...

Our 335d went back last month. Two wheels had 4" kerb scrapes and the underside of the front bumper was pretty chewed.

£201 in total which I thought was OK.

  1. 2: Absolutely not. There's never a "right to buy" with a lease. You're confusing this with PCP.
You may possibly be offered the opportunity to buy the car at the end of the lease, but there's no guarantee of this, and certainly no indication of a price until the end of your lease is near..

Hi, long time lurker who picked us his Arbuth Spider yesterday following deal on here 2 weeks ago. Absolutely love it!

But apparently it’s not what we needed with 2 kids....the wife had asked me to get a Q3 it seems. I know what deals are there now, but I was wondering, as a point of reference- can anyone recall how could the deals were in the last few months?

I’m after a petrol auto black edition. I know past deals is no indication but with new build next year I’m hopeful that better deals reappear.

Thanks in advance

Mine was inspected the other day and I was worried about 3 scratches and kerbed wheels and all it has cost me is £42 + VAT for a gouge and a scuff on the bumper.

I was told I couldn't own the car after leasing it when I took out the lease but a few weeks ago I was asked if I wanted a quote to buy it as it goes back soon.
