Can someone advise the best level of Gap insurance cover for a leased car worth £30,000 with 23 monthly repayments of £215. Don't quite follow what the Ala website states and I'm sure it is pushing you towards a higher/unnecessary level of cover
Do I just need to select an amount that covers my total monthly payments, £5,000? Or is there a bit more to it than that?
In short, yes plus your deposit, if any. Call ala to discuss, they will explain it allDo I just need to select an amount that covers my total monthly payments, £5,000? Or is there a bit more to it than that?

It's no looker, but it's a top of the range Golf, not something exotic from Italy. A lot harder to make an Estate look sexy & not sure any exist except perhaps the new Panamera of that type of Shooting Brake bodystyle.
That said, i'm totally blown away by mine, but it's not my primary car & i only jumped onto one due to the low Lease cost.
RS6 is a good looking estate. That said, i'm totally blown away by mine, but it's not my primary car & i only jumped onto one due to the low Lease cost.
I have my proposal form from Blue Chilli for the A6 S-Line avant, have said they'll honour price as long as my forms are in first thing Monday morning. Problem is I went and sat in one again today. Certainly feels luxurious inside, but tech/infotainment wise seems old fashioned compared to the A4 avant I'm in now. Having second thoughts. Maybe should just save a bit of money and get another A4, I like the standard tech with it; carplay, colour driver display, Audi connect etc, all of which are optional extras on A6. Although A4 would be a 1.4 manual, I'm only doing 7k miles pa with majority town commute, so engine not actually v important. I hate decisions!!
Hi everyone! Just looking into a new business lease with a budget of <£300/pcm and stumbled on what I think is a bit of a crazy deal. Sadly, it doesn't suit me but it might be of interest to some of you...
I've not posted on here before but hopefully this will work...

It's not great, 9+17 profile means it comes out at £373 a month inc VAT. Unless you really must have the 18 month duration there are two year leases which are a lot cheaper.I've not posted on here before but hopefully this will work...

DSG is also a heavily misunderstood technology. I regard my Golf as a manual car with the ability to be switch to auto if I'm tired or can't be bothered. Without thinking I pull into D and knock over to manual every time I pull off. From there, every single gear change up and down is executed by me when I choose using the paddles (even in day to day driving). I'm in the right gear for every roundabout, junction or corner I approach because I planned and selected that gear just as I would with a full manual. I drive this way 95%+ of the time and rarely let the gearbox run the show. It's also worth noting that I view paddle extensions as essential to get the most enjoyment out of manual-mode DSG
Well either i misunderstand DSG, or i have a different view........Edited by Splats on Friday 24th November 21:18
To me DSGs are automatics with buttons on the steering wheel. I find them rather dull to use. You also dont need a manual driving licence which says a lot.

My bet is you find them dull because you either drive in D all the time or just mash the buttons and wonder why it reverts to take control after a while (hint: it's not in full manual). Left in D or S mode, a DSG is as boring as any other automatic gearbox, even good ones like the 8sp ZF. Unless it's a Rolls, which pulls information from sat nav to make predictions, no auto knows what's happening ahead and for that reason will always seem boring and dim-witted compared to when a human makes all the section decisions. To me DSGs are automatics with buttons on the steering wheel.
