I am about to pull the trigger on a new Audi lease, currently in an A4 1.4 TFSi Sport Saloon and would be happy to have another A4, but want estate and S Line. But also like the A6, despite the older tech.
So am currently trying to decide between:
Audi A6 1.8 TFSi Avant S-Line S-Tronic
3+23 - £802 initial, £267/mth (£6943 total)
and
Audi A4 1.4TFSi Avant S-Line S-Tronic
3+23 - £767 initial, £255/mth ( £6632 total)
Annoyingly, fees are £360 for both. Grrr
What would you go for?
I'm torn between the same 2. What mileage is this for? I'm looking at 15k.So am currently trying to decide between:

I've been speaking to Liam Owen at V4B and he was willing to half their fee

They had the deal a month back, but delivery quickly shot to March and we needed/wanted something sooner. Not sure if they are still doing them:

We were looking at the saloon and were offered £292 on a 9+23 for 5k/year.

Thanks, not seeing an S4 on the site but will get in touch. That's a good deal you got there!

Do you regularly carry tall passengers in the back?
If the answer to these is no, then A4
If the answer is yes, then A6
For me anyway. You don't worry that your nav unit doesn't show google earth when you're trying to get a sofa in the back.

Still, a few little niggles about the A4 annoy me, like the lack of Hill hold assist or electrically folding mirrors as standard.

Had a look on the V4B website (as that’s where I got my current one) but they’re not competitive at all on these two?

Sorry I misread your original message. I'm looking at the A4 1.4 TFSI S Line through V4B and give or take £3p/m were coming in about as cheap as I could find thisHad a look on the V4B website (as that’s where I got my current one) but they’re not competitive at all on these two?

Blue Chilli rang me yesterday regarding the A6 and said that they were expecting the deal to be pulled tomorrow. They sent me over the forms to sign but put the wrong mileage on the order form so hopefully can get this sorted early tomorrow

It's really about personal preference which car do you prefer, newer A4 or older A6. I would go for A6, prefer its interior. Wouldn't entertain 1.4 engine in A4 after what I read here. A6 has 65l tank if it's important and you don't like too frequent trips to petrol station.
Oh, what’s wrong with the 1.4 engine? Current A4 has it and has been ok? garmcqui said:

Oh, what’s wrong with the 1.4 engine? Current A4 has it and has been ok? As a wee aside, has anyone else noticed that decent lease deals often seem polarised to the top and bottom of the model range. For example 1.4tsi A4 and the S4 (I know, technically RS4 above). Good deals on the Golf R but you seldom see something decent on, for example, the 2.0 GTD. I do find it a little frustrating as there a lot of nice metal out there to be leased that is let down by puny power plants. A circa 200bhp A4 in S-line trim on a decent deal would be lovely.

Got no pull out of a corner
Absolute nonsense. It's not the most powerful engine but it's perfectly adequate for an a4. I find it actually quite sprightly. Yes if you let the revs drop down to tickover levels in 2nd or above it struggles. But that's what revs are for.I'd suggest most people commentating haven't actually driven one.

My thoughtsEntry models don’t sell, so big discounts which lower lease payments
High end models have good residuals as popular cars, hence lowering then monthlies

I’m only saying what some people have said on here. To be honest you’re probably right.I'd suggest most people commentating haven't actually driven one.

I have had one and a find it a bit rubbish. Every day, I have a 90degree turn up a hill to exit my street and you need to take it in 1st gear. Even a 1.2 hyundai i20 could do it in second. Likewise entering roundabouts can get a little interesting with the amount of lag. It's fine once going though. Goes back in a few weeks and I'm not going to miss it. Not a engine/car combo for the city in my opinion.

Having said that I see they offer an auto now which would somewhat mitigate it. Oh and the deals are pretty sweet. It is certainly a lot of car for the money. Goes back in a few weeks and I'm not going to miss it. Not a engine/car combo for the city in my opinion.

The 1.4t engine in the A4 is brilliant. You need to rev it. I wonder if those being negative have developed bad habits from driving diesels for too long.
Nope, never owned a diesel- But had lots of na petrol linear sweetness. I just don't like the way it has absolutely nothing under 1700rpm then dumps a load of power once the turbo spools. I park in a multi storey every day, for instance, and it is utterly woeful (particularly when fully laden) at pulling itself up the ramps at low speed in first gear. Perhaps those who think it's great haven't driven many na petrol or drive much in a low speed city environment?
Either way I suggest to test drive before you commit to 2 years. You may like it or able to drive round its foibles, but brilliant it is not.
