Ford Focus RS mk1 ?

Can just about get a decent one for £10k, £14k would get you a really good one.

Stretch a little bit further - circa £15-20K - and get a Lancia Fulvia. Prices going up!

Yes the front engine 944 Porsches from 80's definitely a good investment, parts available, DIY fixable, lovely rear drive and good on fuel. £10k buys a minter N/A. The bad one's are being scrapped and good ones restored. Watch these over next 3 years.

Lancia Delta HPE. If you can find a decent one (not yellow!). If the Intergrale and EVO is anything to go by anyway.

Plus is it me or is the Audi TT mk1 225 Quattro due an increase? I've been looking and prices are alarmingly low. Even for decent ones.

I would avoid a £10-14k 996 as you could easily suffer an expensive engine issue. Far less riskier with a nice Boxster 3.2S, early 987.

I bought a 996 a few years ago and is going in the right direction (though it wasn't why I purchased it). 944 Turbo looks like the next one to me.

Maserati 3200

Last one before the Ferrari engine, boomerang lights, good looks, instant classic.

Your budget gets you a dealer sale in the right colour with low miles. E.g

But if buying private you might get a better option on Maseratighibli.co.uk forum

Alfa 156 / 147 GTA

Bought mine as a project car 3years for 3k when good ones were going for 8k.

Now, good ones are going for 12-15k, decent ones for 7-9k and projects for 5-6k

After sorting mine and having it repainted (pealing laquer, stone chips & a bent door) I wouldn't let it go for less than 15k.

The 3.2 GT's are worth considering but their comparative numbers relative to the GTA's mean that they will never be quite as valuable. The 156 V6's are becoming scare and surprisingly sought after and, like the anything with a busso v6 in it, are going up in value as a result.

Z4 Coupe? Z4M Coupes seem to have rocketed and the standard 3.0 seems to be creeping up. It will probably never make you rich, but does seem to be a fairly safe investment.
