Best Investment car at the moment.
Discussion
I've owned a lot of the cars already suggested (just saying, please don't shoot me for being lucky) but for sheer driving joy and a car that is rising now and only going to get more valuable I am amazed nobody has recommended a Clio Trophy. Park your french small hot hatch prejudice (if you can) and drive one; they are astonishing. Sold mine (made a profit) because I bought a 997 GT3 (also sold at a profit) and have regretted it ever since.
A busso V6 Alfa 147/156 GTA or ideally a GTV Cup although any V6 with the aero and 17inch wheel would do!

I said the Clio Trophy but my network connection crashed as I posted, so I've come back to say it again.I also currently have one for sale

I was going to suggest anything slightly Japanese and rare, but I'd rather not let even more of that market start to pick up scene tax! If you want a weekend car I would start looking at something 60s or 70s. Nothing will go down in value and you will not have to pay any tax so they can be far cheaper to actually own.

Hoping you are tight with that, I bought a Fulvia Zagato last year for just under £10k. The coupe is available for the budget discussed in a good usable condition and have been tipped in a few places as a good investment. My main reason was because I wanted on though - any appreciation in value is an added bonus!Audi TT Mk1 Sport. 800 UK cars made in 2005 and 2006 only.

Just buy what you like and enjoy it.
There are loads of cars that may be depreciation proof but very very few in this price range that will even rise quick enough to cover storage let alone running costs, so just buy something you like and the best you can hope for is to sell it in a few years and get your mo ey back.
Personally id get an E46 M3, I'm looking for one at the moment and working on the missus, likely to be as cheap as they're going to be although they have a decent breaking value so won't go any lower than £5k.

This is really interesting as I will be wanting to do something similar late this year/early 18 but my budget is about £25-30k (Please don't think I'm playing my cats blacker than your cat, I truly am not, just looking at something to spend a dividend on that I can enjoy for a change!)
I want something I can use over a nice weathered weekend, will be a garage queen during the remaining time and will appreciate nicely over say a 7 to 10 year period.
I have been hanging my nose over
A) TVR Cerbera
B) Bentley Continental GT 05/06ish
Feedback would be great and I'm completely open to suggestions.
Cheers
Paul

Sticking with the Saab theme, what about a Viggen?

I'd get a Honda NSX while you can still find the odd one at that price. Or an R34 skyline. They will only go up in value now.I want something I can use over a nice weathered weekend, will be a garage queen during the remaining time and will appreciate nicely over say a 7 to 10 year period.

In keeping (roughly) within the OP's budget ...
Mitsubishi Evo Tommi Makinen Edition (Red)
Clio 182 Trophy
BMW E46 M3
Honda Integra DC2 & EK9 Type R Hatch back
Nissan Skyline R32 GTR & R34 GTR
Honda S2000
Ford Focus RS MK1
Are you joking??Mitsubishi Evo Tommi Makinen Edition (Red)
Clio 182 Trophy
BMW E46 M3
Honda Integra DC2 & EK9 Type R Hatch back
Nissan Skyline R32 GTR & R34 GTR
Honda S2000
Ford Focus RS MK1
Find me an R34 GTR for 14k and i'll buy it right now! .. in fact find me one for double that budget and i'll still buy it right now...
Also, no chance of a red Mak for 14k .. you couldn't even afford my white one for 14k
The red mak is still a great investment but you're looking at 30-40k for a good one....potentially a 6 figure car in 10 years or less (see the 22b prices for comparison)
all the cars mentioned above bar the trophy and borderline S2000 are well out of range as an investment. i.e. low miles & desirable for a collector when reselling.
