I'm becoming increasingly keen on ditching the 4x4 and getting hold of a big, fast, comfortable estate that can both carry a load and be a fun to zoom around in too... Looking around the £15k mark and sniffing around the following...

RS6

E55

Opinions? Alternatives? Things to beware of?

I'm not at all concerned about fuel economy, but it'd be nice not to simply set fire to my wallet from day one.

Keep away from the Audi then, unless all the known issues have been sorted properly

IIRC that generation of RS6 has adaptive dampers which cost a bd fortune to replace (and need doing regularly).

I'd always go for the Merc as a choice between the two, can't beat a supercharger. biggrin

That Audi pictured looks like its already had the original replaced with after market suspension.

i'm sure most of them will have had that done by now.

E61 M5? Not sure a £15k one would be a great idea though.

Thanks for the links and advice... I'm nosing about both options... Not sure an Impreza has quite enough boot space for me. Love the noise though!

So... things have developed.

I'm now sniffing around ML63 AMGs and Range Rover Sport (Supercharged)... anyone with any experience of either?

I'm leaning towards the looks and the interior space of the Rangie... but 507bhp in the Merc is hard to ignore. idea
