Well, a pretty intensive week testing cars and i ended up with an XF, CLS in 5.5 trim was closest but couldnt find in the colours i wanted but even then i think the XF would have won tbh

E-class (no disrespect ZX) what were they thinking with that interior! Didnt even bother driving one as there was no way i could sit in there

CL500 - £100k! You have to be kidding me, tested 3 because i was so astounded at how mediocre the first 2 were, road & wind noise and ride were worse than the XF, maybe ride was on a par but not what i excpected from a 100k car, id have been sorely dissapointed if id bought new.

CLS 5.5 was awesome though, good ride on the abc, engine is an absolute gem (as in cL mind) practical and all the gadgets, just looked so dated next to the XF even a very late Grand edition with mat paint (liked that, as the mat dashes) massage seats were a joke mind.

Thanks for all your help gents, very happy with what i got, enjoying the long drive home on empty roads this eve smile

Glad you got sorted & no offense taken as I said in previous posts I've spent a bit bringing my E Class up to par.
