Which 3 series touring?

My current BMW ownership was a 3.0 z4 which was great and from a dealer and at the time 4 years old so haven't exactly got a lot of bmw ownership experience!

So would a younger (e91 I think up to 2006 and not a n54 engine with the timing chain issue) would be good to get? As I'd get a decent car and save a bit.
Didn't realise I could buy a dealer warranty if I didn't buy the car from a main dealer..

So anything 2006 or before would avoid the timing chain issue on the n47 engine

Anything 10 years old + needs very careful consideration before you buy, you want tons of receipts and detailed service history, personally I'd arrange for a good reputable independent to carry out a full inspection before you part with any money.
