Bit of an odd one but this is the best way of describing what I need!

I currently drive an A7 - great car and very practical considering the sleek looks.

I've been thinking about having a change, and essentially I want a premium marque with a boot big enough to at least fit 1800 x 900mm sheet material in!

All the boot size guides online just give litres in general, which doesn't really help me much.
I'd imagine all of the estates will swallow that up, but I was hoping to keep away from them as I generally prefer the non-estate look. SUV is a possibility, however.

Any ideas? smile

Does your A7 can fit it ? And what sort of material are we talking about ? Something hard and with rough edges?

If you want to go for something old a Saab 9-5 would take it, so new a Volvo v90 or possibly an a6

Yes the A7 takes it. It's a bit of a tardis!
Was thinking about the competitors like CLS and 6 series but almost certain they'd be no where near big enough.

Yes something hard, from plasterboard to composite boards that I had in it yesterday. I use a "boot buddy" to protect it from damage.

How about the new Volvo S90? It 'looks' like should be OK

Looking for something new or fairly new, really.
Not a fan of volvos.
A6 would feel a bit too much like my A7 but not as good, I feel.

Perhaps I'll have to wait for the new A7 to come out!

Thank you - I'll take the R8! biggrin

I might go around some showrooms with a tape measure.
The CLS has been calling me a bit recently, particularly in 63 AMG form. I guess the shooting brake isn't that bad if needed...!

Pretty sure it's not going to go in there in one piece. hehe

...and not really sure how folding the 'back seats' down is going to help make that any bigger. rofl

No concrete decisions made yet. I've yet to get over to a Merc dealer to look at the CLS.

However, the new S5 Sportback I have seen and is a contender - the interior is lovely.
