Okay then. This has probably been done to death, but welcome ideas.

Just sold my 993 c2 manual and now thinking about what next.

Have a company workhorse, so it would be a weekend car. 4-5k pa with an annual trip in Europe.

This one needs to be a keeper - she who must be obeyed getting fed up with my constant hankering for something else. Thinking relatively low production numbers just to keep it interesting and a manual.

Tempted by another 993 - but it would be my 3rd (so why didn't I just hang on to the last one). Maybe a low mileage c4, so alternatives I'm thinking of:

Aston V8 Vantage S Manual. Top end of budget, but relatively limited production numbers (How Many left.co.uk) so worth it?

Audi R8 V10 Manual. Again, relatively low production numbers, but just not that special?

997 Gen 2 GTS - now priced out of budget.

I might hold out for 6 months on a 997.1 GT3 and see if prices soften, but I think everyone is waiting for that one!

What have I overlooked?

Depreciation - well we'd all like that to be as little as possible and I guess I've been spoilt over the past few years; unless anyone has access to Warren Buffett's crystal ball?

GT3 for 60k? No chance. More like 80-100k.

Something older like an E30 M3 or a manual Honda NSX? The proper one not the new hybrid thing.

Probably completely off the mark here but what about a mint Z3M Coupe? Could be a fun car for a year/few road trips and you should be able to get back more or less what you've paid for it?

Failing that I'm sure you could get into a nice Evora for that budget.

As much black series AMG as the money can buy. Or something Nismo GTRish.

Mentioned previously but a TVR Sagaris would be where I'd be going.
