The plate won’t matter on a lease car as you’re just handing it back, not selling after.

This also just popped up on hotukdeals

From the CVUK email - please don't requote all the pics or it'll be a really long page biggrin
Edited because of some crap cropping

Bomb I’ve been dropped with today is that all these S4s have to be registered before the end of August apparently despite being told originally end of sept delivery was fine. Might not bother most but will all be 18 plate and so will have an old plate shortly after delivery.

Also my spec is locked and I wanted to change colour.

Considering pulling out tbh.
life really is too short to be bothered about these things.
Agreed, only very mildly frustrating. The bigger issue, which I would have too, is that my current lease goes back end of September. That would mean either having two cars (not financially doable to insure two cars at the same time with only one eligible NCD - and not covered for long enough by Audi's free 5 days insurance) OR handing back the existing one back early, incurring a charge to do so...

How about return it early? or I know Direct line who I am with will let you cover 1 car for a week/month at a time for these kind of issues?

Just had a quote to extend my 1.4 a4 avant for another 6 month @ £390 p/m and another quote for 12 month @ £593 p/m. Looks like they want their car back.
Has anyone else had any better look extending their a4 lease.
I've got my (saloon) on an indefinite extension whilst my new one is being delivered at the same monthly cost as I'm paying - wasn't an issue at all for them. Not for a fixed time though.

Found it on contracthireandleasing

But interestingly the configurator has been pulled from the Peugeot website today.

I did a quick calculation on those Tig deals earlier.
Looks around £300 amortised over 24 months once deposit and admin fee are included.

The one I picked up for my wife in Feb (delivered in March) worked out a few quid over £250.

£1,200 difference, which is annoying, as I’m now on the look out for one for my father in law too.

My concern is the allspace is a bigger car yet measly 150bhp , not the 190.

Hi,
Anyone seen any deals on an A5 coupe or something similar? Looking for 15k miles on a 2 or 3 year deal.

Same issue here current car not going back until end of September a fact I have been clear to them about from the outset.

For me it is important to have the latest plate as it’s part of the ‘new car’ experience afaic.

I’d love to know if anyone else being told the same thing or not and whether this is a dealer decision - I was told it was to do with the wltp regs - which if true would affect all cars not just a few.

I’m not willing to hand back early and incur any extra cost - and doubt the dealer will pay.

Brace yourself, someone will be along to tell you that you must have done some diligence yourself before having the chutzpah to ask the experts on this thread.

Interesting. Who did you order with?

I was guaranteed mine would have the brand new plate on it. They wouldn’t register it until September.

I’m not that bothered about what plates on it personally but would be annoying.

What colour have you chosen? I think you can change colour as long as it doesn’t add or take any cost away as finance is sealed for the deal.

If they mess me about I’m very tempted to just buy a 2015 m3 and pull out of the s4 deal - or even buy a used s4 around September for 30k as I’ll probably lose less than 10k in 2 years or thereabouts and I can keep it longer if I love it.
I don’t want to name any companies tbh on open forum.

I feel messed about to be honest and that’s why I’m considering pulling out.

My colour is locked (metallic white) they told me I can’t change the spec irrelevant of cost - it’s now fixed (I’m told).

Either that or someone will just post an unhelpful comment.

Try contracthireandleasing.com and whatcar’s website as a start.

Unfortunately because wltp comes into effect in September dealers will need to register vehicles beforehand especially if the engine does not comply with regulations otherwise the vehicle can’t be sold. The other possibility and more realistic reason is that the wltp figures mean the car will move up tax brackets thus increasing costs ect. All brands should have advised of this from day 1 as it’s been known for a long time.

I think Audi must be playing hardball. I’d paid deposit direct with a Audi dealership and heard nothing. Turns out the 30 day quotation they give me was on the wrong Audi system (apparently) and they tried for a week to get Audi to accept the order. They didn’t so I got my money back. Not really that bothered tbh cos I had to take a slight loss on my car anyway

My build date on my S4 keeps getting shorter and shorter which isn't ideal as my current PCP doesn't go back until Aug. I may try and delay registering mine a little so I am not running two butnthe desire to geT the thing may take over!

I can understand the desire for those who want the new plate though.

I thought wltp was just a different way of measuring emissions/mpg etc to better reflect real world driving - i don’t see how this affects tax or stops them selling the car after sept as tax isn’t based on emissions any more? New tax rules this year means you pay extra tax in year 1 for cars over £40k and then a flat rate thereafter (or something similar?).

Tiguan lease deals aren't great TBH. I can buy (on PCP) one for about the same as I can lease one. Bit disingenuous too of them to use the R-Line spec model in their pics. The base Tiguan doesn't look as nice as the R-Line.

You have to bear in mind that since the prices on the A4 have shot up from their first release, on the initial really cheap offers, they can sometimes base any extension of the contract on the new prices going for the same car at that time. It's not always the case though and can vary.

I'll be honest, i was simply more than happy to hand mine back at the end. I really didn't want to extend it any longer than required.
