I've made the age old mistake of wanting a specific feature from my next lease. I've really enjoyed Android Auto on my current Golf R Estate (Mk 7 - I specified it as the only extra on that).

Have a quote on a MY18 V90 Estate. Comes with a bunch of extras that are nice to have but I don't need, but crucially front parking sensors (to keep her happy should she use it) and Android Auto (to keep me happy). It is held in my name so no point trying to nab it, I'm told it's the last one in the country!

Full spec:

Volvo On Call with App - remote tracking gizmo I'll never use (+£20.50)
12.32 TFT Driver Display - very shiny, but no no real interest (+£14.91)
Smart Phone Integration - must have (£11.18)
Winter Pack - heated screen, wheel, washers - remotely useful I guess for the screen (+£19.57)
Metallic Paint - no cost, grey, inoffensive (and not white, which is good)
Front park assist - must have (+£12.11)

So paying another £1800 over the course of the lease for stuff I don't want or need

Comes in at £435 on a 1+23. Another £69p/m for service package. Assuming 20k from a set of tyres I'll need a fresh pair in the life of the lease - another £440 or so, and two services that I believe come in at £610 combined. Amortised is about £44p/m so might not bother with that.

I thought that sounded quite expensive but I have to remember about the options, and the mileage. I've tried doing a nearly new Ford Mondeo or VW Passat or similar and then looked at values of those 2 years later, with an additional 40k mi on the clock and I'd lose more in depreciation in the 2 years, before considering tax and likely needing another pair of tyres sooner. Just feels like an awful lot to drop each month on a rental but I've been used to doing 5-6k a year!

Never PCP'd before, presumably that will be even more painful if I went down that avenue?

Also. Anyone who looked at BMW 6 Series before (and has a car allowance/has proof their company offers car allowance) BMW Marshall is now matching the personal price for the 630i GT on personal.

3+23 £386 a month.

For the people who haven't kept track of BMW numbers the 630i is a 2.0 4 cylinder and not a straight 6.

That’s coming in at 20%! Very good deal.

I also had a search on contract hire and leasing, TFS Vehicle leasing and Mad sheep have the same deals.

TFS: https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...

Mad Sheep: https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...

That sounds like a hell of alot of money considering the deals that were available. Have you asked for a quote on a 2019 model and that way you do not have to pay for the extra bits you don't want as they will be able to build as per your order.

Hey, do you have a particular dealer that you spoke with? Marshalls is a huge franchise.

Firstly thanks for posting this, dont take the following the wrong way as your posts always represent value and please keep them coming, I recall you were one of the first on the V90 bandwagon. However, only 2-3 months ago an E220 AMG Line Estate could be had for roughly the same money, although as it breaches the 40k list price barrier will now be an extra 30/month due to the hike in tax. Its the worst period for deals in the time Ive been playing the lease game and Im starting to get nervous as my current contract is winding down.

Ho hum, fingers crossed for the next quarter..................

Offloading the 630i as it's no longer in production.

Of course it'll be a closely guarded secret but there must be some number of cars around that have to registered by the end of August before WLTP kicks in. I guess manufacturers will be doing everything they can to slowly ease these cars into the market.

I'm sure you're right, but its not a zero sum game either.

Many manufacturers are also having issues with WLTP compliance for future production (either they can't get the tests done fast enough, or they need to make changes to comply). That's going to mean constrained supply which usually means longer lead times, less stock, firmer prices, etc . So we may see the trade take up some of this stock and pre-reg. Rather then an avalanche of deals appearing for us frown

Of course I hope they make a massive cockup and I can get an Urus for £200/month biggrin

There's no way that E class deal is current. It's not even on their own website. Those cars generally seem much dearer than that (they were around this level at the end of May).

Hi,
My new touran is being built and must be registered before the end of August otherwise it gets "destroyed". Shame cos I fancied a 68 plate but meh.

It's a problem isn't it? My current Merc has it and I love it. Our family car doesn't and I curse it's medieval bullst every time I get in it.

I will only lease/buy cars now that have it.
