Volvo seem to be having a big push at the moment, some crazy cheap deals recently. They’re the new VW of deals, I’ve gone from 2 VW’s to Volvo.
Volvo's global sales declined quite sharply in December and it looks like they have a bit of a panic on to arrest the slide in January.

Is that a summary or indictable offence

Great price. I’d get it in red with contrasting wing mirrors just to make a point that I’m not an old man

This works out at 19% if it was over 24 months. I took the £309 monthlies and extended them to get an idea

You'll find similar on what car leasing from Volvo dealers, 2 and 3 year deals. I'm thinking 2 year v90 r design, £7,664 all in, 8k miles, for a £39k car.

It depends on your spin:

https://www.media.volvocars.com/global/en-gb/corpo...

V40, S60 and XC60 are all old models coming towards the end of their life where sales are always reduced. Considering they are towards the top sellers usually, to be +7% on the year doesn't sound so bad after all. I guess it depends how sales vs targets looks.

What do you actually stand to lose if you were to cancel an order part way through for whatever reason? Are there fees to pay or does it depend on the company?

Edit; I realise you’d lose whatever admin fee you had paid to the broker but apart from that?
There's a clause in the contract stating what would be payable. When I caned my S4 order it was £360. Broker didn't charge me again when I sourced the replacement through them.

Thanks

Volvo had a bad December 2017 and it looks like they are cutting prices in Jan 2018 to make sure it doesn't become a trend.

2015 = +8% YoY worldwide sales growth.
2016 = +6% YoY.
2017 (Jan to Nov) = +8% YoY.
2017 (Dec) = -4% YoY.

You make a very good point; Volvo are struggling in the middle ground right now. Do you mind if I ask what you drive, and would you recommend PCH, PCP or SH?

V40 has another two years apparently till facelift. Xc60 has already been facelifted going 6-7 months now...

I think if anyone is looking for a saloon, the S60s are still a fair bit behind in design

I’m still considering the A5 in SE spec or Sport.

It’s very well spec’d in se with heated seats, electronic boot e.t.c. It doesn’t have sat Nav in se although does it have CarPlay??? I have the sat Nav in my current A4 sport and find it woeful and just use google or Apple maps any way.

Think it’s 20% of RRP which isn’t too bad as I don’t think they’re heavily discounted

I’ve lost track of this thread, but remember some looking for new Polo GTi prices.
Have just come across this:

https://carleasespecialoffers.co.uk/car/product/34...

3+35 profile for £271 per month? (8k miles)
A lot better than ridiculous prices on here through the week.

Hope it helps someone.
It's still way too expensive for what it is. As someone said, a Golf GTI can be had for basically the same, which is better equipped, bigger, faster, etc.

Why VW aren't pushing this new model, i don't know. Especially considering how cheap the previous model was offered at.

A car had generally paid for itself in terms of r&d by the time it has a mid life facelift. So older models can have lots of support thrown at it. A new model still has to recoup these costs so discounts will usually be lower on new models. Also a new model is more desirable so doesn't need to be discounted so heavily to get units moving.

There are the odd exceptions with discounting new models heavily, but that's how most manufacturers work.

Yes, hence the crazy cheap S60 deals as it's a c.8 year old design now

That's definitely not always the case. The MK6 Golf R's never had any support thrown at them, in terms of decent finance/PCP/lease deals. However, the MK7 Golf R ended up being one of the best, most popular and heavily-discounted models out there.

The new B9 Audi A4 too, which i currently have and is due up for replacement in late April, was the same. Cracking value for what it is. I never saw such deals on the previous model, even when trying to shift stock to make way for the new model's release.
