I’m not within 90 days to get a quote. Any one else with one of the A4 saloon sport deals able to share the purchase price from vwfs or if it can be extended at our £156 per month

Wow! How many miles have you done in it out of interest?

Just got off the phone with VWFS and the admin lady there said it doesn't need to be a main dealer servicing it! Hoping she's not mistaken on that one but logged the time of the call just in case they kick up a fuss.

Got very lucky with that deal as they'd all run out but managed to pick up a cancelled order from my local dealer!

I’ve only done 14,000 Miles. Due back in May.

Could you get something in writing from them. I don’t trust they would let you take it to Halfords !

Simple question: where to find leases on used cars (1 year old), it seems tough to find.
Often very poor value for money on used cars. Better with PCP or even better getting a cheap loan and buying outright.

Doubt you'll get any decent deals on used cars. The best lease deals all have the benefit of manufacturer support - basically the manufacturers are propping up the deal by giving the suppliers a bonus for shifting a certain number of units (as an example). This support won't exist with used cars.

You are right, I have not seen anything interesting and no one is really advertising that so it is probably not worth it for the dealers... Which I do not understand yet why (probably because PCP makes more money for them)

Yeah it's frustrating we got to 19500 miles before the light pinged up! C'est la vie.

It is weird to think they'd let any fred in a shed service it isn't it. Wonder what the rules are if I go and look at the contract and it says must be main dealer but then we ask on the phone and they say no it doesn't? Sounds like a get out of jail free card eh.

A car had generally paid for itself in terms of r&d by the time it has a mid life facelift. So older models can have lots of support thrown at it. A new model still has to recoup these costs so discounts will usually be lower on new models. Also a new model is more desirable so doesn't need to be discounted so heavily to get units moving.

There are the odd exceptions with discounting new models heavily, but that's how most manufacturers work.
not sure i agree with that. the R&D costs are sunk costs. Once the vehicle is in production the OEM will throw support at whatever they feel will be best for business, be that for higher bottom line profits or for operational/capacity reasons, probably some others too. They aren't going to keep flogging a dead horse to recoup R&D money that was sunk years ago.

After spending a day thinking about the pro's and con's of having another lease car to replace the Scout in April, I'd be grateful if anyone finds a 'mega deal' on a Golf R estate (3+23) if they could post it. Seems like I've missed the boat.

True it makes sense. So I guess, once the lease is done for example on a 24-month, they are sold in the dealers' shops.

There don't seem many good deals around these days on big cars; large saloons, SUVs etc.

Being in the motor trade for 20 years and working closely with manufacturers and working for a manufacturer in a previous role writing end user terms for customers gives me a little bit of knowledge on the subject smile

Discounts improve year on year generally speaking as the car recoups it's costs, a new model usually has a far better residual value than it's outgoing counterpart, so the level of discount required is lower than the previous model would require to get to a similar monthly cost. There are exceptions such as VAG who will choose to punt a load of money behind certain new products such a Golf R, petrol A4 etc to get them moving

Just pummelled the grapefruit on the Leon Cupra 300 Estate.

Wasn't necessarily what I was looking for, but just can't get over how good a deal it is and I can get June delivery to match my current car going back. They said delivery could be sooner but they're quoting "worst case scenario 20-22 weeks.- if it comes earlier then its no problem to hold it".

Lookers Seat Stockport
9+23
10k p/a
Metallic paint
£1850 initial
£205 / month
inc VAT
No fees and in fact nothing to pay whatsoever until delivery - which is also free

Been speaking to Carly myself today and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the same deal tomorrow, mine works out at £6580 all in for the same package on 6+23, so not a huge difference in the overall cost.

Any idea how much the charge is for extra miles?
Did either of you get a quote for DSG?

It's quite possibly the best quote today - just as long as he knows he's paying a premium for ordering that specific car today, knowing it's been a lot cheaper in the recent past.

I'm guessing it'll be similar to IMG where every 1k miles would add a fiver to the monthly premium.
