Jaguar Manchester have told me that I'm one of the lucky ones and have had my order confirmed. Not had anything in the post though. I've asked for a call from the Business Manager on Monday (they're not in till then). I'd like something to say from Lex's side that it's confirmed, otherwise I won't believe I've secured the deal.

If possible, could people please post what the best price is they've had for a V90? I'd seen that someone had said £251 on a 6+23 8k for the R Design but I've had ever so slightly more than that for the Momentum model.

I'd really appreciate it as wanting to order ASAP!

Shocked but not suprised Lex are getting negative feedback again. They screwed me over on the A6 and so glad I didn't pursue the Jag deal despite Select saying it was all good. Looks like there needs to be a register of all the people they are doing over sent to BVRLA and the FCA!

My wife went to the local dealer in Chelmsford and got the following quotation.

V90 D4 R Design
12k pa
9+23
£274/month

Circa £8.4k over term. Pretty good deal on a £39k car (list price)

Delivery circa April time.

We are probably going to order. Only issue for us our current Gold R estate doesn't go back until July so hopefully we can delay it slightly.

Best part of the deal was, I was admiring the i8 as I was leaving (I hadn’t signed the contract at this stage as I always sleep on it before confirming). Call from the salesman on the way home; if I sign the deal by 5pm tomorrow, I get car mats, a full tank......and an i8 for 24 hours.

Wonderful.
The M140i comes with car mats as standard and mine came with a full tank of fuel as its factored into the OTR price.

Hi Hugo,

Just want to double check as £274 on a 9+23 works out to £8768 over the term. Based on that you would be better going for the 8k deal and paying the excess mileage. It would save a few hundred pounds over the term!

Based on the quote I've had you would pay £8341.91 which includes the excess mileage and give you 24k over the term.

I know re the mats and I couldn’t have cared less about those fuel. I was always taking the deal regardless. I was just emphasising the supercar for a day bonus...

Regards the Jag XF I wonder if it's one of these situations again that if Lex haven't countersigned the finance documents they won't honour the deal?

I ordered direct with a Dealer on the Sunday. £225.25 on a 9+23 10000 per year R-sport trim.

What were fleetprices offering price wise?

I had ordered an A6 so if they are going to let me down on this one I'm making a complaint and then onto the Financial Ombudsman.

It'll set a trend if they keep doing it which is disconcerting for consumers.
Interested to understand what the basis or grounds for going to the ombudsman would be?
if they don't sign the agreement then they didn't agree to anything. Not really sure how you can hold someone to an agreement they did not sign, and raise something with the ombudsman when no agreement took place.

Sorry, fake news. The price is dearer on their site, plus there’s a scrolling banner on their saying ‘A5 Cabs have sold out’.
Plus I found their service to be lacking.
They have been brilliant for me in terms of service, but they don't have time to hold your hand that's for sure and that's precisely why they're often the cheapest, which suits me fine.

If you know what you want, then they're superb, it's literally a 15 min process. And when they sent the Audi order number, I could do the rest and track the car on myaudi plus deal direct with dealer, which I much prefer. Why add a middleman ?

If you're not too sure then other more expensive brokers with a different business model might be better.

I can only assume you have no direct experience dealing with FOS processes ? It's entirely possible to complain without a contract being signed by either parties without this necessarily affecting the outcome.

isn't that more about flagging the terms of the contract as dodgy rather than how it has impacted you though? The latter is general about how the company is presenting themselves but the latter is about having entered an agreement on a dodgy basis.

Agree with the other couple of PHers - not a fan of Select.

As for them being 'often the cheapest'..... rofl I find it's the opposite. They used to post their 'amazing value' deals on here quite regularly only for PHers to realise it wasn't such a good deal. Fortunately they've got their own lease deal thread so things have quietened down on that front. Any good deals will always make it across to this thread.

Won't be ordering from them myself and won't be recommending them to family and friends. Latest Jag XF deal being a prime example - informing customer's after they'd paid their deposits and admin fees that the monthly prices had gone up. Poor form.

One thing they do have - a very nice website. smile

Contracts don't even need to be in writing to be binding.

This is good advice and reflects my experience. If you want your tummy tickled, a dealer will do so at retail pricing.
Our last 5 cars have all been ordered directly from dealers. All of them cheaper than online brokers. No admin fees. Also managed to get a tank full of fuel on some of the cars and a promise of % discount on servicing.

All it takes is one or two phone calls when 'that' deal is posted on CVL (who more often than not, are the quickest to post very good deals). Cut out the middleman.

To form a contract, the following four elements are required;
an offer;
acceptance;
consideration; and
the intention to create a legally binding agreement

I had a quote from Stoneacre Chesterfield for 279inc vat on a 3+23 plus 100 national delivery for an R Design 8k pa no options except metallic. Walked into my local dealer to have a poke around the car, got talking to a sales guy who was surprised at the low quote to say the least as they were 1500 more over the term.

He went to talk to his sales manager and the long and short is they matched the quote thus saving me the delivery charge. Delivery quoted end of March/early April.

Will have to hand my Alltrack back a couple of months early but who cares, the Volvo is a big step up. Can't wait.

Cardiff. They did insist on seeing my original Volvo quote mind you.

I didn't do anything special, just filtered CH&L for deals less than 300 with 3 upfront and there the ad was from Stoneacre. Filled in the form week last Friday and had the full quote by lunchtime Saturday.
