it's not a condition that you have to have it serviced at main dealer, unless it specifies that on your agreement, and it generally doesn't AFAIK.
Does anybody have any experience with servicing at non-main dealerships on leases?
yea, me. Not sure what you're asking. Check your Ts&Cs?
I have an astra through jet with maintenance, they booked the service at Halfords

1st Service on my now returned 208gti, I had it done at a Peugeot specialist who used genuine parts and followed the correct schedule. £120 all in Vs £200 at nearest dealers. I had no issues with a later warranty claim and subsequent hand back at the end of the lease.

Check your T&Cs, MBFS for example stipulate it must be serviced at a main dealer and what the end of contract charge is if it hasn't been serviced within the dealer network. I believe there are a few others that are the same.

VWFS (which most of the Audis are with) do stipulate dealer servicing. They even wrote me a letter about my Golf emphasising the point and the £400 charge for breaching it. My old work also had a similar situation with some Peugeots.

My A4 goes back second week of March and I've only done 5k miles so far (job situation changed but the car was so cheap I kept the lease). I can't find anything in the car menu system telling me when it needs servicing. Do you know if I'll need to get it serviced before the 2 year handback point with so few miles on it?
On the Infotainment system, go to car (where you get dynamic, comfort, auto etc...
Push the control to the left.
It will bring up some options, can't remember exactly what they are... But one will be service related.

I had a Citroen C1 on lease a couple of years ago, the Citroen 1st service price seemed pretty steep so I tried Peugeot and Toyota.

Toyota were around 35% cheaper so I went with them - the lease company confirmed it was ok to do this, but I'm sure it wont be the same for all manufacturers!

Hey folks.

I’m looking at leasing a car, and was interested in what percentage of the overall cost of a car is a good percentage to be aiming for over a three year lease.

I have found a formula, it’s in dollars, but makes sense, was just wondering if there is a rule of thumb when looking.

http://www.realcartips.com/leasing/0439-good-lease...

More or less

IF ("Real" Monthly Payment / MSRP ) * 10,000 is less than $125, then it's a good lease deal

For example, if the "real" monthly payment is $300 on a vehicle with MSRP of $25,000, your monthly cost per $10k would come out to $120 ($300 divided by $25,000, then multiplied by 10,000). This would be considered a good lease deal since it falls under $125 per month per $10K worth of vehicle.

I’m maybe looking at it the wrong way, I usually buy a car outright, but would rather just pay the depreciation - and I’m lookimg at how you can get a ball park percentage.

Some of my work colleagues choose to have lease cars as part of their jobs instead of claiming mileage rate of 45ppm.

Currently Hitachi supply the cars, they HAVE to have them serviced and maintained by Halfords of all places.

So much for the old advice that ex co cars were well maintained.

I would strongly advise anyone of straying from main dealer servicing for their lease car, to contact their finance company for advice.

All vary their conditions, and change their terms frequently. Only they can tell you smile

I don't recall a single "deal" in the history of this thread that was a 3 year contract (I'm sure the collective will correct me if I'm wrong!)

VW Up GTI has just been announced, when are we likely to see the lease deals coming through on those ?

I don't think VW have had a decent campaign in 2018 yet so this is expected in a few weeks judging by what was posted earlier in this thread. I'd be surprised if these are pushed, but I'd be keen if they are. TBH I've never really seen great funding pumped into the VW UP.

I don’t think it’ll happen based on what i’ve Been reading on the Up owners forum from people who claim to be in the know.

Only an initial 700 cars have been earmarked for the UK this year and VW are expecting that demand will outstrip supply at least for this year so might be a while yet before we see decent support at PCH level.

I think the fact it’s so competitively priced has worked against us leasers if anything. If it was priced with the usual VW tax at £16/17k I think we’d see them on a good PCH deal with support but at £13.5k I can see plenty willing to part with their cash.

Hope I’m wrong though as I really want on a cheap deal!

Cardiff. They did insist on seeing my original Volvo quote mind you.

I didn't do anything special, just filtered CH&L for deals less than 300 with 3 upfront and there the ad was from Stoneacre. Filled in the form week last Friday and had the full quote by lunchtime Saturday.
Thanks Snake_oil,

My R Design quote from Clive Brook Bradford was £265 on a 6+23 so yours is working out a lot cheaper. I spoke to Andy at Stoneacre on Friday and I'm just waiting for his quotes.

I'm torn between the look of the R Design and the comfort of the Momentum. Haven't test drove one yet but all reviews moan about the suspension on the R Design. Can't be bothered with the wife whinging every time I go over a bump!!
I'm quite interested in changing my car (Jag XF) i'm currently 2.5yrs into a 4yr deal (which i'll look to VT) to a Volvo Estate (sub £300 p/mth running costs will be very welcome).

Any recommended contacts?

No offence intended (I know this is almost always precedes something offensive) but there are a lot of people posting in here of late simply asking for a good deal on X.
I don't think that's really the point of the thread, I think it's to share good deals and discuss them. Take a read of the thread, figure out where the best places are to look and then go hunt and then um and ah over a good deal and miss out.

That's how we do things around here right?

The T Roc has recently been released and has horrendously high lease rates at the moment, I suspect the Up GTI will be more per month than a Golf GTI for some time yet.

Outright purchase, bank loan or cheap PCP will be the way to go for a couple of years I reckon.
